  • Publication number: 20170358268
Abstract: Provided is a display device and the like, in which power consumption is reduced in consideration of increased definition of a display image or an increased size of a display panel. In a liquid crystal display device having a power-saving mode in addition to a normal mode, buffers for outputting data signals from a source driver (300) to source lines are made up of positive-polarity buffers (333p) and negative-polarity buffers (333n), and a connection switching circuit 334 is provided between output ends of these buffers and the source driver (300). In the power-saving mode, the buffers (333p, 333n) are connected to source lines by the connection switching circuit (334), while the polarities of the buffers are taken into account, such that the same data signals are applied to two mutually adjacent source lines. Accordingly, although horizontal resolution is halved, half of the buffers in the source driver (300) are halted, thereby enabling great reduction in power consumption.

Abstract: A display device is provided that effectively reduces noise generated inside a display panel such as a liquid crystal panel. The source driving unit of the display device includes positive amplifiers, negative amplifiers, a positive amplifier regulating unit and a negative amplifier regulating unit. The positive amplifiers transmit positive driving signals to the display panel unit via source lines. The negative amplifiers transmit negative driving signals to the display panel via source lines. The positive amplifier regulating unit regulates the timing for the positive amplifiers to output positive driving signals. The negative amplifier regulating unit regulates the timing for the negative amplifiers to output negative driving signals.

  • Publication number: 20150258066
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing a fine powder. Two or more kinds of original materials are suspended and liquefied inert gas to form two or more kinds of slurries wherein each slurry contains at least one or more different kinds of original materials. Granular dry ice grinding medium is put into the slurries. The slurries are individually stirred and the original materials are pulverized into submicron-sized or nano-sized particles in the liquefied inert gas. The slurries are thereafter mixed. The liquefied inert gas is vaporized and the granular dry ice is sublimated. A mixture of the particles of the two or more kinds of original materials is recovered.

  • Patent number: 9044758
Abstract: Disclosed is a manufacturing method for a fine powder exhibiting improved solubility, little impurity contamination, and a high recovery rate. Material to be ground and a grinding medium are suspended and stirred in a liquefied inert gas dispersion medium such as dried ice, and the material to be ground is made into a sub-micron or nano-sized fine powder. A uniform fine powder can be obtained when the material to be ground is a mixture having two or more components. Impurity contamination can be reduced by using granular dry ice as the grinding medium.

  • Patent number: 8669955
Abstract: Provided is a portable display device sufficiently small to be held with one hand that enters a state for accepting a gesture when a fixed coordinate position near a central portion between a left display unit (14a) and a right display unit (14b) is pressed with a thumb Ftl of one hand holding the device, and accepts a command for performing such as page flipping processing based on a gesture inputted with an index finger Ffr of the other hand. Thus, it is possible to achieve an interface for input operations suitable for a two-screen display screen, where holding a two-screen portable display device naturally causes the device to enter a command accepting state to allow gesture recognition, and to enter a command non-accepting state when the portable display device is not held, in order to prevent a command from being falsely executed due to an unintended contact and such to the display screen.

  • Publication number: 20130127930
Abstract: In this liquid crystal display device, typically, when a +3V source voltage VCI or a ?3V source voltage VCI1 is present between a ground potential GND and an output signal voltage Dh, an output voltage selecting portion (305) is initially controlled to provide a video signal line with the +3V source voltage VCI or the ?3V source voltage VCI1 (after providing the ground potential), thereby raising (or lowering) the potential of the video signal line. Thereafter, the video signal line is further driven at a voltage from a tone voltage generating circuit using a 5V power source until the potential level reaches the output signal voltage Dh. As a result, the 5V power source is used as little as possible so that power consumption can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20130063385
Abstract: The disclosed portable information terminal (10) is compact enough to be held in one hand, and when the device is being held in one hand by a user, the thumb of one hand placed on a display area (14) is detected by a transparent touch panel provided on the display area (14). At the time of detection, the terminal returns from standby mode, and therefore, a command will not be erroneously executed. Also, operation input is recognized resulting from a finger (aside from the thumb) approaching, touching, or pressing a touch panel (261) provided on the reverse side from the surface to which the display area (14) is provided, and a pre-associated process command is executed in response to the finger operation input that was recognized, and therefore, a suitable operation input interface for one hand is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20120105404
Abstract: A recognition processing unit (22) performs recognition processing on a scan image based on a signal read from a light sensor (2) and outputs coordinate data (Co) indicating the position of an object to be detected. A mode control unit (24) determines a normal mode in which the recognition processing unit (22) is operated or a standby mode in which the operation of the recognition processing unit (22) is stopped. A thinned image memory (25) stores a thinned image when the normal mode is switched to the standby mode. The mode control unit (24) switches the standby mode to the normal mode when a newly supplied thinned image changes from the stored thinned image by a prescribed amount or more. Thus, it is possible to rapidly leave the standby mode and quickly detect the contact position.

  • Publication number: 20100295832
Abstract: A display device drive circuit (4) includes an AD conversion circuit (45) which carries out AD conversion of an analog signal (Vs), which is inputted via a first terminal (P) connected with data signal lines (SLR, SLG, and SLB). The first terminal (P) is time-divisionally used for (i) a period during which a data signal (Vd) is sent out and for (ii) a period during which the analog signal (Vs) is inputted. The first terminal (P) is (a) connected with the AD conversion circuit (45) via only a switching circuit (47b) and a sample hold circuit, and (b) directly connected with an output circuit (47a), During the period during which the data signal (Vd) is sent out, the switching circuit (47b) disconnects the first terminal (P) from the AD conversion circuit, whereas, during the period during which the analog signal (Vs) is inputted, the switching circuit (47b) electrically connects the first terminal (P) to the AD conversion circuit and an output of the output circuit (47a) becomes high impedance.

  • Publication number: 20100295833
Abstract: The present invention provides an active matrix display device, including: a data signal line drive circuit mounted by COG (Chip On Glass) bonding; a photosensor, which is included in a display region, for (i) detecting light intensity and (ii) sending out an analog output serving as a signal indicative of the detected light intensity; and a common electrode (COM) to which a voltage being AC-driven is applied. The data signal line drive circuit includes an analog-to-digital conversion circuit which converts the analog output supplied from the photosensor into a digital output. The conversion is carried out during a first period, which overlaps none of (a) a time point at which each of the scanning signal lines starts being in a selected state, (b) a period during which data signals are sent out to respective data signal lines, and (c) a time point at which the voltage of the common electrode changes.

  • Patent number: 4905279
Abstract: A remote control receiver which can be "taught" to recognize a remote control signal from any of a plurality of remote control receivers as its control signal. For this purpose, the transmitting code and the carrier of a remote control signal are analyzed and the transmitting code is stored in connection with the instruction content during a learning mode. Then, during normal operation, a received remote control signal is filtered by a band pass filter in which the filter band is set in accordance with the carrier of the remote control signal stored during the learning mode. The filtered signal is then decrypted with reference to the stored transmitting code, thereby permitting receipt of the remote control signal transmitted from a heterogeneous remote control transmitter. In this manner, the remote control receiver may be "taught" to respond to commands from a remote control transmitter the user is accustomed to using.
