  • Patent number: 5113279
Abstract: A laser beam scanning apparatus for laser printers, digital copying machines and the like in which a plurality of laser beams are combined, the composite laser beam is deflected in the main scan direction and a part of the deflected composite laser beam enters an optical path at an SOS signal sensor, then the composite laser beam is split and directed to different parts of an exposure member. Although there is some mixing of one beam split from the composite beam with unsatisfactorily separated beam, the unsatisfactorily separated beam is further separated in the optical path to the exposure member, thus effectively preventing the occurrence of image ghosts on the exposure member.

  • Patent number: 4899140
Abstract: A display device for copying machines and the like and having separate two display sections for displaying conventional numeric information, the two display sections being commonly used for displaying non-constant numeric data. The non-constant numeric data is divided into high-order multiple columns and low-order multiple columns, so that each multiple columns is displayed in a separate displaying section, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4893177
Abstract: According to the present invention, there are provided an apparatus and a method in which a full-color, original manuscript is optically scanned, the optical image is separated into three pirmary colors and the resultant image data is read, and then the image data thus read is outputted to a thermal printer, thereby generating a print for each color undergone the color separation. Namely, the manuscripts for effecting a printing operation with yellow, magenta, cyan, and black are created by use of an ink sheet. In other words, a correction is achieved to set the total of the areal ratios of yellow, magenta, cyan, and black in each pixel of the reproduced image to at most 100% (or the total of the numbers of dots for yellow, magenta, cyan, and black is set to be equal to at most the number of matrix elements), thereby achieving the object described above.

  • Patent number: 4860052
Abstract: The present invention relates to a copying machine constructed so as to make maintenance, and the replacement period for components in particular, readily understandable. The apparatus includes a first counter which counts the number of copies reproduced and a second counter which counts the use frequencies of the component whose use frequencies are not countable by said first counter.

  • Patent number: 4837846
Abstract: A method of image processing for sampling the concentration of each portion of an image in the unit of a picture element and for binarizing the concentrations of picture elements in the unit of a submatrix of predetermined size to obtain a bi-level image, being characterized in that the bi-level image is obtained from the concentrations having been sampled according to the steps as follows: (a) calculating the average of the concentrations of the picture elements at every submatrix to which the picture elements belong; (b) determining the number of elements in the submatrix to be treated as either one of black and white according to a predetermined relation with the average; (c) assigning elements in the submatrix as the elements to be treated as either one of black and white up to the number determined in the step (b) in the predetermined order of the concentration of each element.
