  • Patent number: 6384509
Abstract: A flexible area 2 is joined at one end via a thermal insulation area 7 to a semiconductor substrate 3 which becomes a frame and at an opposite end to a moving element 5. The thermal insulation area 7 is made of a thermal insulation material a resin such as polyimide or a fluoridated resin. The flexible area 2 is made up of a thin portion 2S and a thin film 2M different in thermal expansion coefficient. When a diffused resistor 6 formed on the surface of the thin portion 2S is heated, the flexible area 2 is displaced because of the thermal expansion difference between the thin portion 2S and the thin film 2M, and the moving element 5 is displayed with respect to the semiconductor substrate 3.

  • Publication number: 20010037186
Abstract: A coordinate position detecting method uses a plurality of light emitting elements and a plurality of light receiving elements located on mutually opposite sides, all the elements being arranged at a predetermined interval in horizontal and vertical directions, with each pair of mutually opposed light emitting element and light receiving element forming a light beam path, such that the coordinate position of a light blocking object can be detected once the light beam path is blocked. The method comprises: storing N previous coordinate datas obtained when detecting a movement of the light blocking ojecte, using n (1≦n≦N) coordinate datas of the N previous coordinate datas to calculate a coordinate position of the light blocking object; and changing the number of the coordinate datas for use in calculating the coordinate position, in accordance with a speed of the movment of the light blocking object.

  • Patent number: 5158057
Abstract: A system and method for controlling ignition timing for an internal combustion engine to suppress engine knocking in which a periodic pseudo random signal (for example, M-series sequence signal) is superimposed on an ignition signal provided at an ignition timing, and a cross-correlation function between the periodic pseudo random signal .chi. and a knocking signal y is calculated to determine an actual knocking level. The ignition timing is then corrected so that the cross-correlation function coincides with a target value which is defined as a value placed in a vicinity of a knocking limit. The ignition timing for the engine is controlled so as to reach the value in the vicinity of the knocking limit but does not exceed the knocking limit.

  • Patent number: 5140961
Abstract: A system and method for self diagnosing an engine controlling system such as an ignition system, fuel injection system, and an EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system are disclosed in which a periodic pseudo random signal is superposed on a control signal such as an ignition signal, fuel injection signal, or EGR rate controlled value indicating signal during an engine steady state condition, a cross-correlation function is calculated from both the superposed periodic random signal and output signal related to deterioration of the engine controlling system, and a value related to the cross-correlation function is compared with a reference value over which a performance of the engine controlling system cannot be maintained. If the value related to the cross-correlation function exceeds the reference value, the diagnostic system determines the occurrence of deterioration in the engine controlling system.

  • Patent number: 5078108
Abstract: A throttle control system for an internal combustion engine includes a first lever which is pivotable around a longitudinal axis of a throttle shaft depending upon movement of an accelerator pedal, and a second lever which extends radially from the throttle shaft and is fixed thereto. The system further includes a transmitting mechanism which mechanically transmits pivotal motion of the first lever to the second lever so that the angular position of a throttle valve fixed to the throttle shaft varies in response to depression of the accelerator pedal. The transmitting mechanism optionally changes the ratio of the pivotal angle of the first lever from that of the second lever, so as to change the relationship between the depression rate of the accelerator pedal and the opening angle of the throttle valve.
