  • Patent number: 8125877
Abstract: An optical pickup includes a light emitting component, an optical component and a base component. The light emitting component has a laser diode, a package and a holder. The package has a positioning recess formed in an outer peripheral face of the package. The holder holds the package in a fitting hole of the holder. The holder has a protrusion component that is formed in an inner peripheral face of the fitting hole of the holder and is fitted to the positioning recess of the package, and a guide component that extends from the protrusion component by a first specific height beyond an end face of the holder. The protrusion component has a width in a peripheral direction of the fitting hole that is at least equal to a width of the positioning recess of the package in a peripheral direction of the package.

  • Patent number: 8064318
Abstract: There is provided an optical pickup apparatus in which the collimator lens cannot be scratched before the support base for the objective lens actuator is fixed, and further dust can hardly come in and be deposited to result in contaminating the collimator lens and thereby degrading the performance for recording and/or reproduction. A pair of movement limiting walls 11 and 11 for limiting the horizontal movement of a support base 3 for an objective lens actuator 2 are formed on the upper surface of a base chassis 1 as contact prevention means for preventing the support base 3 from coming into contact with a collimator lens 5 before the support base 3 is fixed. The movement limiting walls 11 and 11 prevent the support base 3 from coming into contact with and scratching the collimator lens 5.

  • Patent number: 7792008
Abstract: There is provided an optical pickup apparatus in which the assembling workability such as chucking of an LD holder by an adjusting jig and spreading of adhesive can be improved. In the optical pickup apparatus, multiple fitting portions (boss portions) 1d formed on one of a side wall surface 1a of a slide base 1 and an LD holder 10 are fitted loosely into respective multiple fitted portions (hole portions) 10b formed in the other one so that an adjustment space 12 required for adjustment of a laser diode 6 is ensured between each fitting portion and fitted portion. This allows the LD holder 10 to be fixed temporarily to the side wall surface 1a of the slide base 1 with the laser diode 6 being adjustable freely, resulting in an improvement in the assembling workability such as chucking of the holder by the adjusting jig and spreading of adhesive.

  • Patent number: 7592585
Abstract: The soldered connection of an end portion of a cable extending from each element with a main substrate is prevented from being broken. An end portion of a cable t1 extending from a light source element LD that is fixed to a standing frame 2A on a slide base 2 movable back-and-forth in the radial direction of a disk passes through an insertion opening 9 in the slide base 2 to be connected by soldering 8b to a main substrate 3, and an extended portion 15 extending from the peripheral edge of the insertion opening 9 close to the main substrate 3 is formed integrally with the slide base 2, the clearance “?” between the leading end face 15A of the extended portion 15 and the main substrate 3 being set slightly greater than the thickness “d” of the cable t1, so that the cable t1, if tensioned when positioning the light source element LD, is brought into contact with the edge 15a of the leading end face 15A.

  • Publication number: 20060192061
Abstract: A fitting structure for fitting a laser holder holding a semiconductor laser to a base member in an optical pickup device includes a support member of a metal plate that supports the laser holder. The support member integrally has: a base part having a laser passage hole that is formed in the center thereof for permitting laser light from the semiconductor laser to pass therethrough; an upper projecting part and a lower projecting part that respectively project from the upper and the lower edges of the base part so as to oppose each other and that support the laser holder so that the laser holder can swing about the vertical axis; and a bending part that is elastically deformable and that first projects from the upper edge of the base part toward a side opposite to a side toward which the upper projecting part projects and then is bent downward and also inward toward the base part.
