  • Publication number: 20130334193
Abstract: An electric heating device for a vehicle may comprise: a switch element configured to allow an electric current to flow through an electric heater; a switch element control unit generating a switch element control signal and a switch element drive signal; and a switch element drive unit driving the switch element with the switch element drive signal. The switch element control unit generates a new switch element control signal based on a switch element function diagnosis signal for diagnosing an abnormality in the switch element or in the switch element drive unit and on a switch element functional abnormality detection signal that includes an indication of a presence or an absence of the abnormality. The switch element control unit generates a new switch element drive signal based on the new switch element control signal and on the switch element function diagnosis signal.

  • Patent number: 5668415
Abstract: In an arrangement of harnesses in a vehicle, a plurality of harnesses connected to a plurality of control units and electronic parts are bundled and disposed in each section of the vehicle so that a bundle of harnesses (25) in one (20) of the sections are connected to a bundle of harnesses in another section (30) via a multiple connector (70). The harnesses bundle (25) in the section (20) is separated into at least two harness bundles (25A, 25B). One (25A) of the two harness bundles is directly connected to a connector (31a) of a control unit (31) in the different section (30). The other harness bundle (25B) is connected to a harness bundle (35C) in the different section (30) via the multiple connector (70).

  • Patent number: 5428535
Abstract: A mother unit includes a mother board within a case. Control units control output devices, such as an air conditioning actuator, an antiskid actuator, an air bag module, or a constant speed actuator, each provided in a vehicle. The control units are freely connected to or disconnected from the mother unit. The mother unit is connected with the actuators by a wiring harness. Further, the mother unit is connected with sensors requisite for controlling the actuators by a wiring harness. A mother board of the mother unit is provided with common circuits shared by the control units.

  • Patent number: 5382897
Abstract: A cross-coil type measuring instrument which is employed as an engine tachometer for instance. A cross-coil type measuring instrument includes a cross-coil type measuring unit having a pair of coils arranged crossed forming a predetermined angle with each other, and a movable magnet magnetized bi-polar which is set rotatable by the magnetic action of said pair of coils, a driving circuit for producing polarized drive signals which are different from each other in phase and change in response to variation in values to be measured, and a constant voltage source for supplying a first constant voltage to the driving unit, the first constant voltage being switched to a second constant voltage periodically in response to a switching signal. Due to the switching of the constant voltage, the amount of power supplied to the cross coils can be made smaller resulting in reducing the amount of heat generated therein as much.

  • Patent number: 5202668
Abstract: A noise suppressing arrangement in the form of an interface is provided between a data transfer circuit and a driver associated with a display unit vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) tube. The driver and power supply circuits associated with the display unit feature improved arrangements which attenuate surges and spikes. The voltage appearing on the grid of the VFD is controlled by a circuit which is responsive to a signal produced by a microcomputer which controls the illumination and which induces changes in the voltages applied across the filament of the VFD. The level of illumination can be automatically controlled by light sensor and illumination levels above default values which are automatically reset to optimal values each time the system is initially energized.

  • Patent number: 4972122
Abstract: In a head-up display apparatus for a vehicle, there are employed, a fluorescent display tube having a filament, a grid, and an anode positioned in a predetermined positional relationship; a power supply circuit for supplying a filament current to the filament of the tube and an anode voltage to the anode thereof; a display controller coupled to a display switch, for controlling the display tube so as to display various information of a vehicle on the display tube in response to a vehicle information signal and a switch signal of the display switch, the display switch being operated so as to display/erase the various information on/from the tube; and, a synchronized switching unit for controlling the supply of the filament current to the filament from the power supply circuit in synchronism with the switching signal of the display switch supplied from the display controller.
