    Abstract: In a process for UV decomposition of waste water containing organic substances as contaminants, the organic substances can be efficiently decomposed with maintaining a high decomposition rate by controlling addition of an oxidizing agent based on COD value of the waste water; for example, when the oxidizing agent is hydrogen peroxide, its concentration is continuously controlled within the range of 0.5 to 1.0 equivalents to the COD value.
