Patent number: 7318274Abstract: A method is provided for fitting waterproof seals onto outer peripheries of end portions of electric wires. The method feeds seals along the axis line of the wire and into a seal cavity. A passage forming member forms a feeding passage to feed the seal into the seal cavity with a posture to receive the electric wire. The seal then is locked in the seal cavity. The wire then is moved along the axis line and into the seal.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2004Date of Patent: January 15, 2008Assignees: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd., Japan Automotive Machine Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masaharu Ichikawa, Hatsuo Yamada, Kazuhiro Sato, Yuji Izumida, Masahiro Toyoda

Publication number: 20040143965Abstract: A waterproof seal feeding machine is provided to feed waterproof cylindrical seals to a fitting position on an axis of an electric wire to fit the seals onto outer peripheries of end portions of the electric wire. The waterproof seal feeding machine includes holders that open and close at the fitting position. The waterproof seal feeding machine further includes a seal cavity that receives the seal at the fitting position when the holders are closed. A passage forming member forms a feeding passage to feed the seal into the seal cavity with a posture to receive the electric wire. A lock brings the seal to a locked state in cooperation with the holders and releases the locked state after insertion of the electric wire.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 16, 2004Publication date: July 29, 2004Applicants: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd., Japan Automatic Machine Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masaharu Ichikawa, Hatsuo Yamada, Kazuhiro Sato, Yuji Izumida, Masahiro Toyoda

Patent number: 5946897Abstract: A production unit for twisted cable is disclosed that facilitates the supply and removal of fixed length cables, thereby contributing to improved workability and automation compatibility. A plurality of pairs of relatively rotatable opposed cable clamps are provided with one cable clamp of each pair provided at one end of the fixed length cables and the other of each pair of cable clamps provided at the other end. Each pair of clamps is intermittently moved forward in a direction transverse to the opposed direction in which the cables extend. Each pair of cable clamps sequentially circulate, and the supply and removal operation of fixed length cables to and from the pairs of clamps are conducted respectively at predetermined positions by stations provided in the circulating route, by which it becomes possible to carry out the supply and removal of fixed length cables to continuously repeat the twisting operation.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 1998Date of Patent: September 7, 1999Assignee: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Masaharu Ichikawa, Hideki Nakamura
