  • Publication number: 20070247567
Abstract: A liquid-crystal display that can inhibit the coloring of an image when a liquid-crystal panel is viewed from an oblique direction is provided. An optical filter is disposed at the forward end of a liquid-crystal panel and has different transmittances between a light component that travels in an oblique direction and a light component that travels in a direction normal to the multilayer, where both of the light components have a predetermined wavelength range. In the case where a wide-color-gamut light source, such as LEDs, is used as a light sources of a backlight unit, when the liquid-crystal panel is viewed from an oblique direction, the entire image area tends to be reddish, and the color temperature tends to decrease. In this case, the optical filter is configured such that the intensity of a visible red light component is selectively reduced such that the intensity of a visible blue light component is increased, thereby inhibiting the reddening of an image area when viewed from an oblique direction.

  • Patent number: 5307791
Abstract: An air massaging device having at least one inflatable air bag adapted to be laid against a portion of the human body. The device includes an air pump generating a pressurized air and a distributor valve which has an open position of feeding the pressurized air to the air bag and a closed position of allowing the pressurized air to be discharged from the air bag to the atmosphere in order to repeat inflating and deflating the air bag. A single pressure sensor is disposed upstream of the distributor valve to monitor a pressure level developed on the side of the air pump. A control circuit is included to activate the air pump on a time-period basis in order to give a desired pressure level to which the air bag is inflated. The control circuit operates to provide one or more initial inflation cycle and subsequent inflation cycles alternated by deflating cycles.

  • Patent number: 5233974
Abstract: An air massaging apparatus utilizes a plurality of inflatable air bags of elongated configuration which are arranged in side-by-side relation along a line and supplied with compressed air from a pump to inflate. A distributor is provided to channel the compressed air from the pump selectively to the air bags for inflating the air bags one after another sequentially in a predetermined primary direction along the line of arrangement in such a manner as to inflate at least one air bag at a time while allowing the compressed air to escape from the remaining air bags. The distributor is controlled to inflate the air bags temporarily in a reverse order over a limited number of the air bags during an overall operation of sequentially inflating the air bags in the predetermined primary direction.
