    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a counter substrate and an active matrix substrate, and a liquid crystal layer that is provided between the counter substrate and the active matrix substrate. The active matrix substrate includes gate interconnect lines, data interconnect lines, a thin film transistor, a pixel electrode that is connected to the thin film transistor via a through hole, a common electrode, and an interlayer insulating layer that is disposed between the pixel electrode and the common electrode. Also, a photo spacer for providing a constant spacing between the counter substrate and the active matrix substrate is provided inside the liquid crystal layer, and equipotential lines having a voltage less than a threshold value are formed inside the photo spacer.

    Abstract: A cassette loading and unloading device for loading and unloading a cassette which typically accommodates an exposed film carrying image information includes a pair of guides for holding a cassette therebetween, the guides being relatively displaceable depending on the size of the cassette to be held therebetween, a cassette holder for displacing the guides to a position in which to open a lid of the cassette, while the cassette is being held by the guides, and a displacing mechanism for returning the cassette holder to an original position and allowing the cassette to be removed from the guides. The guides include a fixed guide and a movable guide, which are relatively movable to define a space therebetween that matches the size of a selected cassette.

    Abstract: Improvement in the device for enlarging and projecting a microfilm image is provided. The improvement is directed to an optical system acting as a magnification varying means and image rotation means as a united system. The optical system comprises a set of reflectors including three or more odd number of reflectors, magnification varying means for changing the length of the light path through the system thereby to vary the magnification of enlargement, and an image rotation means for rotation said set of reflectors to rotate the light delivering the enlarged image, said magnification varying means and said image rotation means being co-operatively associated with each other such that the light axis of the light getting out of the optical system is aligned with the light incident to the system.
