  • Publication number: 20070214287
Abstract: According to one embodiment, since key information is written after a drive unit and host unit are assembled into a player, it is not necessary to manage, in the assembled player, the correspondence in secret key information between the drive unit and host unit. Further, in the player, even if, for example, the drive unit must be exchanged for another, encrypted key data can be shared simply by writing another key data item.

  • Publication number: 20070005502
Abstract: In a media key generation apparatus which generates the media key of an AACS-compatible medium according to the present invention, a search unit searches encryption values recorded on the medium for an encryption value associated with a coordinate derived from a coordinate associated with one of a plurality of device keys held in a system. A calculation unit calculates the device key value obtained by encrypting the found encryption value, from the device key associated with the coordinate serving as a derivation source on the basis of the derivation relationship between the coordinate associated with the found encryption value and the coordinate serving as the derivation source. A write unit writes, in a nonvolatile storage medium, the calculated device key value, block identification information, and storage position information of the found encryption value in the block.

  • Publication number: 20060280439
Abstract: According to one embodiment, disconnection/connection of external devices networked as connected devices is automatically detected, and connection environment of the external devices is grasped, so that various functions can be controlled. A disconnection/connection detecting unit detects whether an external device is connected to or disconnected. An authentication unit conducts a mutual authentication when the external device is connected. When the external device is disconnected while the recording medium is being reproduced, a positional information processing unit causes positional information concerning a position being reproduced to be stored. When the external device reconnected again, a reproduction start control unit starts a reproduction of the recording medium according to the positional information.

  • Publication number: 20060125832
Abstract: A repeater comprises an EDID memory to store a control data and a memory control unit. The memory control unit is configured to make access to the EDID memory to read the control data therefrom, store the read control data into the EDID memory and, when access is made to the EDID memory by the set-top box, transfer the control data stored in the EDID memory to the set-top box. In this case, the memory control unit outputs an inhibiting signal to a set-top box to inhibit it from making access to the EDID memory until the completion of an operation of storing the control data from the EDID memory in the set-top box into the EDID memory in the repeater.

  • Patent number: 4974185
Abstract: A digital filter having a characteristic expressed by a rational function executes a signal processing in a predetermined sequence in accordance with a pre-emphasis mode or de-emphasis mode. A first digital filter has a characteristic expressed by a denominator polynomial of the rational function and processes an input signal according to this characteristic to produce a first process signal. A second digital filter has a characteristic expressed by a numerator polynomial of the rational function and processes an input signal according to this characteristic to produce a second process signal. A mode selector selects one of the pre-emphasis and de-emphasis modes. A first switch supplies the input signal to the first digital filter in accordance with the pre-emphasis mode and supplies the second process signal from the second digital filter to the first digital filter in accordance with the de-emphasis mode.

  • Patent number: 4278924
Abstract: Digital servo apparatus includes a counter adapted to count inputted reference clock pulses to display time data. The output of the counter is latched by a first tacho pulse (controlled signal) to a first latch circuit and the contents of the first latch circuit is transferred by a second tacho pulse to the second latch circuit and the present count data of the counter is latched to the first latch circuit. A discrimination circuit is adapted to discriminate whether or not a control signal is within a predetermined control amount, based on time difference data latched to the first and second latch circuits, and deliver an output signal corresponding to a predetermined control amount based on the result of discrimination.
