  • Patent number: 8200396
Abstract: An apparatus is provided to control a lighting angle of headlights installed in a vehicle. In the apparatus, a curve of the road is calculated and the radius of the curve is obtained, based on the current position and the road information. The curve is located ahead of the vehicle. A distance from the current position to a starting point of the curve is calculated based on the current position and the road information. Determination is made as to whether or not the curve is an S-shaped curve based on the road information, and line-shape information showing a line shape of the S-curve is set in response to the determination results of the curve. A lighting angle of the headlights is calculated based on the radius of the curve, the distance and the line-shape information, and the lighting angle of the headlights is controlled based on the calculated lighting angle.

  • Patent number: 7503677
Abstract: A headlight control apparatus and method controls an irradiation direction of a headlight. This apparatus uses a navigation-based swivel angle calculated based upon the shape of a road in a navigation-based control period, and a steering-based swivel angle calculated based upon a steering angle in a steering-based control period. When the control period changes from the navigation-based control period to the steering-based control period, this apparatus uses a value between the navigation-based swivel angle and the steering-based swivel angle as a present control swivel angle for controlling the irradiation direction of the headlight.

  • Patent number: 7246021
Abstract: The directions of optical axes of headlights of a vehicle are adjusted based on a steering angle by switching filters of different response speed characteristics. The filters are provided with hystereses along boundaries neighboring to each other. The filters are switched depending upon the steering angle and a steering angular velocity to vary the response of swivel control. Therefore, the start of swiveling is not quickened, the filter is not frequently switched, quick motion is suppressed and, hence, smooth motion is realized making it possible to execute a swivel control without causing discomfort.

  • Publication number: 20050195613
Abstract: The apparatus for automatically adjusting a light axis of a headlight of a vehicle of the invention has a structure including a steered angle sensor detecting a steered angle of a steering wheel of the vehicle, a vehicle speed sensor detecting a speed of the vehicle, a visual performance input device for inputting driver information concerning a visual performance of a driver of the vehicle to the apparatus, a control unit calculating a light-axis control value, and an actuator for swiveling the light axis of the headlight in accordance with the light-axis control value calculated by the control unit. The control unit calculates the light-axis control value on the basis of the steered angle of the steering wheel detected by the steered angle sensor, the speed of the vehicle detected by the vehicle speed sensor, and at least one physical quantity related to the driver information.

  • Publication number: 20030115177
Abstract: A process failure information management system including a server and a terminal, in which an user inputs information concerning a process failure using the terminal and the input information are stored into a database of the server. The date of input by the user is stored into the database. When a prescribed period has passed from the date of input stored in the database without input by an user of the following step, the server sends an E-mail for asking for an input of information to the user who inputs information at the following step.
