  • Patent number: 11429049
Abstract: An image forming device includes a first detection sensor unit that detects a toner image formed on an image carrier; a second detection sensor unit that detects the toner image disposed to be separated in the main scanning direction with respect to the first detection sensor unit and formed on the image carrier; and a controller. The controller causes: an image carrier to carry toner images indicating a first test pattern and a second test pattern, and discriminate a difference from a determination condition with respect to a first determination result based on a first threshold value and a second determination result. The controller determines a component to be an occurrence cause of the difference based on a combination of the first determination result and the second determination result when it is determined that the difference is present.

  • Patent number: 10969707
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductive body, a light source, a lens, a light housing, a first fulcrum, a second fulcrum, a stay, and a repositioning mechanism. The lens is positioned to focus light emitted from the light source at a focal position. The light housing holds the light source and the lens. The fulcrums are positioned such that a surface of the photoconductive body is positioned at the focal position when the light housing engages the first fulcrum and the second fulcrum. The stay is positioned to support the light housing at two or more points between the fulcrums. The repositioning mechanism is coupled to the stay. The light housing presses against the fulcrums when the repositioning mechanism is in a first orientation and is spaced from the fulcrums when the repositioning mechanism is in a second orientation.

  • Publication number: 20200021708
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a first temperature sensor inside the image forming apparatus and configured to detect a temperature. A controller is configured to execute a first position shift correction for each of a plurality of toner images used in printing an image when the first temperature sensor detects a change in temperature from a previously detected temperature exceeds a first threshold value set for a first temperature range. After the first position shift correction, the controller executes a second position shift correction if the detected change exceeds a second threshold value set for a second temperature range higher than the first temperature range and the temperature is outside a prescribed temperature range, and skips the second position shift correction otherwise.

  • Patent number: 8723908
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an optical scanning device includes plural light sources, a polygon mirror, a first lens, a first reflection mirror, and a second lens. The polygon mirror deflects lights emitted from the plural light sources in a predetermined direction. The first lens allows the lights emitted from the plural light sources and deflected by the polygon mirror to pass. The first reflection mirror reflects the lights passed through the first lens in a direction different from the deflecting direction of the polygon mirror. The second lens receives incidence of the lights reflected by the first reflection mirror from a direction different from an incident direction of the first lens and allows, with one lens, the lights emitted from the plural light sources to pass.
