  • Patent number: 5295738
Abstract: An anti-skid control system for use in a motor vehicle which controls a braking pressure for a wheel of the motor vehicle to keep a slip of the wheel to an appropriate state by alternately performing a pressure-increasing operation and a pressure-maintaining operation in accordance with a slipping state of the wheel. The system first detects a slipping state of the wheel before performing the pressure-increasing operation on the basis of a vehicle speed and a wheel speed and then detects a slipping state of the wheel when a predetermined time period is elapsed from the pressure-increasing operation in a state that the braking pressure is maintained after the completion of the pressure-increasing operation so as to calculate a variation of the slipping state of the wheel on the basis of the detection results.

  • Patent number: 5028360
Abstract: A method of manufacturing spherical silica particles comprising the steps of processing in an acid-containing solution and then washing with water the coagulant derived from an aqueous alkali metal silicate solution extruded through pores in a water-miscible organic medium or acid solution, wet-grinding the amorphous silica thus obtained in a liquid dispersion medium to obtain a fine particle silica suspension with a weight average particle size of 10 .mu.m or less, spray-drying this fine particle silica suspension with hot air and sintering the spherical granulated silica thus obtained. According to the present invention, the high-purity spherical silica particles can be obtained with high solidity and adjusted surface smoothness without any complicated operation or waste water treatment for use as a sealant filler for highly-integrated IC electronic parts.

  • Patent number: 4985075
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a chromium-bearing pig iron comprises the steps of charging cold bond pellets, iron ore and coke lumps into a blast furnace from above and blowing a gas containing more than 50% oxygen therein and tuyere nose flame temperature control agent into the blast furnace through the tuyere, the cold bond pellets being comprised of powdered chromium ore and powdered coke as principal feed materials. The cold bond pellets are manufactured by performing a mixing, a pelletizing and a curing step. The tuyere nose flame temperature control agent is a top gas, steam, water or CO.sub.2, which is used to control the flame temperature to 2000.degree. to 2900.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4917727
Abstract: According to a method of operating a blast furnace, pure oxygen, pulverized coal, and a temperature control gas which substantially does not contain nitrogen are blown from tuyeres. A preheating gas which substantially does not contain nitrogen is blown from an intermediate shaft level. A blast furnace gas which substantially does not contain nitrogen can be produced from a furnace top.

  • Patent number: 4887800
Abstract: A tuyere for a blast furnace comprises water-cooled tuyere; and a burner removably mounted inside the water-cooled tuyere to burning pulverize coal. The burner comprises an inner pipe, an intermediate pipe and an outer pipe which are concentrically arranged. The inside of the inner pipe is used for a pulverized coal path, an oxygen feed path being in between the inner pipe and the intermediate pipe and a flame temperature control gas feed path in between the intermediate pipe and the outer pipe. The burner is equipped with a water-cooled jacket outside of the top end of the burner.

  • Patent number: 4844737
Abstract: A method for operating a blast furnace, comprising the steps: charging iron ores and cokes through a furnace top into the blast furnace; blowing in gas containing 40 vol. % or more oxygen together with pulverized coal through tuyeres into the blast furnance; and controlling a fuel ratio within a range of 500 to 930 kg/ton., molten pig iron and still a ratio of the pulverized coal blown in through the tuyeres within a range satisfying the formula: ##EQU1## molten pig iron, where X represents a fuel ratio. Through blown-in inlets set in the furnace shaft, preheating gas is blown in to preheat burdens. The cokes charged into the blast furnace are cokes of low strength having a drum index of DI.sub.15.sup.30 of 80 to 90% .

  • Patent number: 4497323
Abstract: Disclosed is an exhaust valve having an approximately constant rate of pressure loss per unit time which is particularly useful with an automatic sphygmomanometer. A pair of abutting plates are provided in a fluid flow path. The plates are pressurized into contact with each other at least in part by a pressurized fluid to be exhausted through the valve. At least one of the plates is formed of a resilient material and a gap-forming member is disposed between the abutting plates to define an exhaust passage which has a cross section which varies as the pressure of the pressurized fluid varies.
