  • Patent number: 8848985
Abstract: A face-image registration device extracts, from a moving image which is inputted thereto, a face image showing a face of a person and registers the face image in a dictionary. The face-image registration device includes representative-face-image extracting means for extracting, from the moving image, at least one face image which satisfies a predetermined representative condition, so as to obtain a representative face image, and registration-face-image extracting means for extracting, from the moving image, at least one face image which shows the person shown in the representative face image but is not the representative face image and which satisfies a predetermined registration condition, so as to obtain a registration face image. The face-image registration device also includes face-image registration means for registering, in the dictionary, the registration face image in association with the representative face image.

  • Patent number: 7705737
Abstract: An object identifying device includes: an input request unit for requesting an input for starting a shooting operation; an input unit for receiving the input for starting the shooting operation and a control unit for controlling them. The control unit performs a truth and falseness deciding process for comparing an input operation of the input for starting the shooting operation that is received by the input unit with a normal operation previously registered as a normal operation to decide a truth or a falseness, a matching process for matching the object on the basis of the shot image obtained by the shooting operation and the registered data of the object that is previously registered and an identifying process for identifying the object to be relevant when both a decided result by the truth and falseness deciding process and a matched result by the matching process are true.

  • Patent number: 7590284
Abstract: An original pupil color of a subject person in an image in which an abnormality such as a red-eye or gold-eye occurs is estimated. Further, whether an image correction is required or not and to produce an image having a natural pupil color in the image correction by estimating the original pupil color from the image is judged. A pupil color estimating device has a skin color of a subject person specified from an inputted image, regardless of whether an abnormality such as a red-eye or gold-eye occurs. This skin color is substituted in an approximate equation based upon a statistical result carried out in advance, and thereby a normal color component of a pupil is estimated from the skin color of the subject person.

  • Publication number: 20070288748
Abstract: The present invention aims to effectively prevent spoofing in authentication and maintain convenience of the user. In a face authentication unit of the portable telephone, the face image checking part checks the face image of the person to be authenticated, which is acquired by a face image acquiring part through a photographing unit, with face feature information contained in a face feature DB of the storage unit and calculates the matching degree. A threshold value determining section determines the threshold value by searching the evaluation DB based on the position information of the own device acquired by the position information acquiring section through the GPS receiver. An authenticating section compares the matching degree calculated by the face image checking section and the threshold value determined by the threshold value determining section, and determines success and failure of the face authentication.

  • Publication number: 20070253604
Abstract: A mobile phone includes a photograph section that takes a picture of an object to be authenticated; a face-image comparison section that compares the face image taken by the photograph section with a registered face image; and a distance sensor and a distance determination section that measure the distance to the object's face. When the photograph section takes a picture of an object to be authenticated, the distance determination section measures the distance to the object's face using the distance sensor. Then a 3D-or-2D determination section authenticates the object's face from the measured distance. When the object's face is false, an authentication-result output section outputs authentication failure.

  • Publication number: 20060212718
Abstract: A photographic subject authenticating device, a portable telephone, a photographic subject authenticating method and a photographic subject authenticating program are able to improve reliability of security with respect to disguise. Therefore, a controller of a photographic subject authenticating device for performing authentication processing for authenticating a photographic subject on the basis of a photographic image provided by photographing the photographic subject by photographing is constructed so as to execute authentication repeating processing for also repeatedly executing the authentication processing after it is judged as in conformity by the authentication processing; and timing determination processing for determining repetitious execution timing so as to become irregular timing.

  • Publication number: 20060210167
Abstract: An ATM has a display section of a touch panel and a security camera that takes an image of at least an area from which display information on the display section is viewable. After a predetermined waiting time, the security camera takes an image. From the taken image, human faces are detected, and how many human faces are detected is counted. If the number of human faces is one, the display is carried out as peeping is not underway according to the judgment. Meanwhile, if a plurality of human faces are detected, the display is stopped as peeping is underway according to the judgment.
