  • Patent number: 4583363
Abstract: A device for controlling the supply of secondary air in an internal combustion engine, having a secondary air control valve and a reed valve provided in the secondary air supply path and having a control circuit for receiving the output signal of an O.sub.2 sensor and producing a control signal for air-bleeding control valves of a carburetor for the engine. The secondary air control valve is controlled in accordance with the opening degree of a throttle valve of the carburetor.

  • Patent number: 4516551
Abstract: A control system for ignition timing and exhaust gas recirculation which includes a vacuum controller operated by a power source of negative pressure to advance the ignition timing, an EGR valve operated by a power source of negative pressure to recirculate the exhaust gas, a temperature sensing valve sensing an engine temperature which introduces atmosphere to the vacuum controller as well as to the EGR valve when the engine temperature is low, a pressure control valve which introduces the atmosphere by a flow ratio substantially in inverse proportion to a pressure of the exhaust gas, and a negative pressure line which introduces a negative pressure at a portion in a carburetor at an upstream side from a throttle valve to the vacuum controller and the EGR valve, whereby the vacuum controller and the EGR valve are controlled in connection with each other.

  • Patent number: 4501243
Abstract: In an air-fuel ratio control apparatus for engines, when a vehicle is brought to a stop and the engine comes into an idling operation, the average value of air-fuel ratio correction amount is decreased by a given amount and the air-fuel ratio control is started again from the decreased value by means of an average value hold circuit.

  • Patent number: 4478191
Abstract: In an air-fuel ratio control system for internal combustion engines, an electronic control unit supplies a drive signal to an air-fuel ratio actuator in response to signals from an oxygen sensor and a heavy load sensor. The electronic control unit holds the air-fuel ratio compensation signal to a predetermined value when the heavy load sensor detects that a predetermined time has not passed since the engine enters a heavy load condition, and changes the air fuel ratio compensation signal to a predetermined value associated with the rich mixture when it is detected that the predetermined time has passed.

  • Patent number: 4478192
Abstract: An air-fuel ratio control system for engines comprises a control unit by which the air-fuel ratio is maintained constant to enrich the mixture gas for a first predetermined time length after the detection of an engine heavy load condition, the air-fuel ratio is controlled as predetermined on the basis of an oxygen detection signal for a second predetermined time length after the lapse of the first predetermined time length, and the air-fuel ratio is restored to the constant value thereby to enrich the mixture gas after the lapse of the second predetermined time length.

  • Patent number: 4128089
Abstract: An exhaust gas recirculation apparatus for an internal combustion engine, which has a so-called EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve provided with a vacuum actuator for controlling the amount of exhaust gas to be recirculated. An air introducing pipe is opened to the intake system for introducing an extra amount of air into the engine. An air control valve is provided on the air introducing pipe for stopping this introduction of the extra amount of air into the engine so that a rich air-fuel mixture can be supplied into the engine when the engine is beginning to accelerate from a low rotational speed. The vacuum actuator of the EGR valve is connected to this air introducing pipe, in order to carry out an EGR operation when a rich combustible mixture is supplied to the engine.
