  • Patent number: 6777915
Abstract: A charge control means (10) provided for a battery charging apparatus (1) conducts protection control for a battery pack (2) by transmitting a signal to an output control switch (14) for turning off an output when a rise rate of the temperature of the battery pack (2) detected based on information from a temperature detection terminal (8) is equal to or more than a predetermined value, or a rise rate of the voltage of the battery pack (2) detected based on information from a voltage detection terminal (9) is equal to or less than a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 6635382
Abstract: The present invention uses a magnesium-based alloy which is excellent in mechanical workability to be formed thinner than conventional alloys. The present invention provides a lithium secondary battery comprising an electrode assembly and a non-aqueous electrolyte, both accommodated in a metal jacket, wherein the metal jacket is made of a magnesium-based alloy containing lithium in an amount of 7 to 20% by weight; and a metal layer or an insulating layer for preventing corrosion of the metal jacket is formed integrally with the metal jacket on the inner wall thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 7, 2001
Date of Patent: October 21, 2003
Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Yoshio Moriwaki, Masakage Komori, Shingo Tsuda, Hidekazu Eguchi
  • Patent number: 6635385
Abstract: A mixture of a polyolefin-based resin and a solvent is heated to a temperature at which at least part of the polyolefin-based resin melts to produce a viscous, gel-like adhesive solution. A mixture of the adhesive solution, an active material, and a conductive material is kneaded to produce a paste-form mixture, and a collector is coated with this paste-form mixture to form a mixture layer. The collector with the mixture layer formed thereon is then heated and dried, after which it is press-molded to a specific thickness and cut to a specific size to produce electrode plates.
