  • Patent number: 6177502
Abstract: An injection molding composition includes: 100 parts by weight of a propylene-ethylene copolymer comprising a crystalline portion and a non-crystalline portion; and 17 to 33 parts by weight of inorganic particles capable of imparting at least one of rigidity and heat resistance to the propylene-ethylene copolymer. The propylene-ethylene copolymer has a melt flow rate of 15 to 50 g/10 min and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of not less than 5. A crystalline ethylene polymer contained in the crystalline portion and a non-crystalline propylene-ethylene copolymer contained in the non-crystalline portion have a total amount ranging from 10 to 20% by weight.

  • Patent number: 6145180
Abstract: A vehicle assembly line has a first line for a first mobile conveyor and a second line for a second mobile conveyor and the first line is connected to the second line with two hanger conveyor lines. Two working robots are disposed to the first mobile conveyor, one being positioned within a cabin of an upper body section and the other being positioned in front of the upper body section. The second mobile conveyor has a mechanism for altering a posture of the upper body section and a height position thereof. To the upper body section are mounted various small parts such as grommets with the first working robot during the course of running the first mobile conveyor in the first line. The second line has plural stations for mounting larger parts such as bumpers to the upper body section which is loaded on the second mobile conveyor and whose posture and position are aligned with the working robots disposed in the plural stations before entering the stations.

  • Patent number: 5626703
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing a composite material comprising a matrix resin of a thermal plastic resin and a liquid crystal resin which has a liquid crystal transition temperature higher than the minimum temperature of capable of molding said thermal plastic resin and which is formed into a fiber structure as a reinforcing material. The method is characterized in that the composite composition is subjected to a melt extrusion process at an apparent shear rate of 3.times.10.sup.2 to 10.sup.5 sec.sup.-1 and above the liquid crystal transition temperature. The resulting material in a filament or thin film has fibers of the liquid crystal resin having an aspect of more than 3 in the matrix resin, so that it is provided with an improved tensile strength by further being subjected to a drawing process at a drawing ratio of 11 to 120.

  • Patent number: 5619784
Abstract: A vehicle assembling method includes the steps of assembling a lower body shell a including underbody portion having a front floor and front body portion, assembling an upper body shell, including a roof member and right and left body side panels, and assembling the upper body shell and the lower body shell, moving rearward the lower body shell relative to the upper body shell, and engaging transverse opposite side ends of the lower body shell with lower end portions of the upper body shell to join the lower body shell with the upper body shell. The under body portion can be readily joined with the upper body shell, improving the workability of the joining operation. The structure of joint portion thereof can be simplified with a desirable sealing.

  • Patent number: 5567485
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a resin composite composition containing a third component for improving the properties of the composite product, based on the knowledge that the composite function between the matrix resin and the liquid crystal is improved by addition of a compatible agent therebetween. Therefore, there is provided a thermoplastic composite composition comprising a thermoplastic matrix resin, a liquid crystal resin which has a liquid crystal transition temperature higher than a minimum temperature of the matrix resin is to be molded and an ability to be melt-extruded into a fiber in the matrix resin, characterized by further comprising a compatible agent for providing an improved bonding power with an interfacing surface between the matrix resin and the liquid crystal resin, within a range possible to prevent the liquid crystal resin into a fiber or fibers having an aspect ratio of less than 3.
