  • Patent number: 4166897
Abstract: Process for producing a water-soluble phosphorus-containing condensation product having a molar ratio P--CH.sub.2 --P linkage/P--CH.sub.2 OCH.sub.2 --P linkage of 0.8-4.0 by heating a tetrakis(hydroxymethyl)phosphonium compound under reduced pressure and acid conditions to condense it by dehydration and deformaldehydation reaction. This condensation product can be used for rendering textile articles flame retardant.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 2, 1976
Date of Patent: September 4, 1979
    Assignee: Toyo Boseki Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Kohei Umetani, Masakazu Date, Kiyonori Kawai
  • Patent number: 4104222
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dispersion of a linear polyester resin for use in the property-improvement of shaped high polymer articles, said dispersion being obtained by mixing a linear polyester resin with a higher alcohol/ethylene oxide addition type surface-active agent, melting the mixture and dispersing the resulting melt by pouring it into an aqueous solution of an alkali under stirring. The dispersion may be used as coating or impregnating agents for shaped high molecular weight polymers.

  • Patent number: 4095945
Abstract: Textile materials are rendered flame retardant by applying a phosphorus-containing condensation product, a nitrogen-phosphorus-containing condensation product and an aminoplast precondensate to the textile material, and fixing them on the textile material.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4027346
Abstract: A modifying process for polyester synthetic fiber products wherein said polyester synthetic fiber products are dipped into a treating liquor having an aggregation initiating temperature in the range of 65.degree. - 125.degree. C and then treated by heating them to temperatures at least 1.degree. C higher than said aggregation initiating temperature. Said treating liquor is prepared by adding to an aqueous dispersed liquid of a polyester polyether block copolymer (1) a anion-nonion or nonion surface active agent which serves to improve the high temperature stability of said block copolymer dispersed liquid, (2) an adsorption promoting or aggregation temperature adjusting agent which serves to increase the affinity of said block copolymer to the polyester synthetic fibers and improve the sorption power of said block copolymer and, if desired, (3) dyestuffs and carriers.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 7, 1977
    Assignee: Toyo Boseki Kabushiki Kaisha
    Inventors: Masahiro Wada, Masakazu Date
  • Patent number: 3970422
Abstract: Glass fabrics are treated with a combination of a sulfur-oxygen containing acid or peroxy acid and an inorganic or organic water-soluble salt comprising a normal salt, an acid salt or a complex salt of an inorganic acid or an organic acid with a metal of Group I or Group II of the Periodic Table and/or with an ammonium group and then colored with a basic dye.
    Type: Grant
