  • Patent number: 5156445
Abstract: A vehicular headlamp in which the lamp body has a reduced susceptibility to deformation due to external forces and a high resistance to heat generated by a light projecting unit. The headlamp is a projection-type vehicular headlamp in which a light projecting unit including a light source, a substantially ellipsoidal reflector, and a projecting lens is mounted in a lamp chamber defined by a lamp body and a front lens. The lamp body has a light source attachment opening formed in a rear end wall thereof. In accordance with the invention, the rear end wall of the lamp body is partially expanded rearward to form expanded walls which protrude along the light source attachment opening.

  • Patent number: 4955121
Abstract: A method for casting a rocker arm made of light alloy for use in an overhead cam shaft type valve operating mechanism of an internal combustion engine, which rocker arm includes a thick-walled bearing section to be fitted on a rocker arm shaft and is integrally provided with a wear-resistive piece having a protrusion on its rear surface and adapted to abut a cam. After molten metal has been injected under pressure into a metallic mold for the rocker arm, a secondary pressurizing force directed in the direction of an imaginary center axis of a rocker arm shaft is exerted by means of a pressurizing rod. In the metallic mold for the rocker arm, a sprue is provided close to the position where the wear-resistive piece is disposed with respect to the position where the bearing section is formed, and the direction of the sprue is directed towards the position where the wear-resistive place is disposed.

  • Patent number: 4930910
Abstract: A bearing arrangement including a plain bearing consisting of a laminated body of a bearing layer and a backing metal supporting the bearing layer. The backing metal is made of a material whose modulus of elasticity is lowered by cold working (austenitic stainless steel), and the bearing layer and the backing metal are joined to each other by cold rolling. Since a working proportion of the backing metal upon the above-mentioned cold rolling is small in the inside portion held in contact with the bearing layer but is large in the outside portion, the modulus of elasticity of the backing metal is different between the inside portion and the outside portion thereof, and the modulus of elasticity in the outside portion is smaller than the modulus of elasticity in the inside portion. Also, the hardness of the outside portion is higher than the hardness of the inside portion.

  • Patent number: 4884621
Abstract: A method for controlling implements by means of a hydraulic pressure. A hydraulic pressure is fed from an accumulator to a first hydraulic circuit, after the operating pressure has been once lowered any arbitrary operating pressure or variation of the operating pressure is detected in the course of restoration to an initial set pressure, and a second hydraulic circuit is triggered by a detection signal based on this detection.

  • Patent number: 4846252
Abstract: A secondary pressurization casting method, in which molten metal is injected into and filled in a cavity of a mold and then a secondary pressurizing force is exerted upon the filled molten metal by making a secondary pressurization pin advance within a through-hole formed in the wall of the mold. After commencement of filling of the molten metal in the cavity, the secondary pressurization pin placed at an initial set position is once retreated, and subsequently it is made to advance to pressurize the molten metal. A casting fin produced around the outer circumference of the tip end of the secondary pressurization pin during the period when the molten metal is being injected and filled, is integrated with the molten metal entered into the through-hole as a result of the retreat of the secondary pressurization pin, and subsequently it is pushed into the cavity by the secondary pressurization pin.

  • Patent number: 4644539
Abstract: In a circuit arrangement responsive to an address signal related to a main memory for reading each microinstruction out of a control memory with each microinstruction subjected to error detection, the control memory is divided into a plurality of compartments each of which is specified by a part of the address signal and which stores at least one of a plurality of data blocks, each consisting of a plurality of the microinstructions. When an error is detected in one microinstruction read out of one of the compartments, as a result of error detection, an erroneous compartment signal is produced by a diagnostic processing unit to specify an erroneous compartment. A modification circuit modifies the address signal part in accordance with the erroneous compartment signal to prohibit the address signal from accessing the erroneous compartment. A data block to be stored in the erroneous compartment is allotted to a normal one of the compartments under control of a control circuit.
