  • Patent number: 8902277
Abstract: A first index corresponding to a first conversation operation and a second index corresponding to a second conversation operation are selectably displayed on a screen of a video output device. When a communicator receives a conversation request from another device, a controller determines whether the first index or the second index is selected on the screen or whether an operating member is operated. If the first index is selected, the controller performs the first conversation operation. If the second index is selected, the controller performs the second conversation operation. If the operating member is operated, the controller performs the second conversation operation.

  • Publication number: 20120162346
Abstract: A user can use a plurality of communication devices to sign in to a communication system. A recording message addressed to himself/herself may be recorded in a distributed manner in the plurality of communication devices. One of the communication devices is requested to display a list of incoming call information while signing in to the communication system using user information. The one communication device requests the other communication device to send incoming call information corresponding to the same user information. The incoming call information corresponding to the same user information is transmitted to the communication device in one terminal from the other communication device. In the one communication device, the incoming call information transmitted from the other communication device is received, and list data is generated based on the received incoming call information.

  • Publication number: 20120155827
Abstract: When a receiver in a control LSI receives a conversation request from another device, a controller in the control LSI determines whether a camera/microphone device is connected to a USB interface in a communication device. If it is determined that the camera/microphone device is not connected to the USB interface in the communication device, the controller in the control LSI performs a message recording operation.

  • Publication number: 20120155657
Abstract: Audio data transmitted from another communication device is received by a receiver, and the received audio data is output to a speaker of a television. Audio is generated based on the output audio data, and the audio is input to a microphone of a camera/microphone device. Audio data corresponding to the input audio is input to an echo cancellation processing unit. An amount of distortion of the input audio data with respect to the received audio data is detected by the echo cancellation processing unit. It is determined whether or not the amount of distortion of the audio data detected by a distortion detector exceeds an acceptable amount. When the amount of distortion of the audio data exceeds the acceptable amount, notification data for presenting to the user a request for change of an output condition of the audio in the television is produced by a notification signal producer.

  • Publication number: 20040159643
Abstract: Laser beam radiating means has a center electrode at an inner periphery of an annular electrode. Center electrode potential control means controls potential of the center electrode so as to keep zero (0) or positive constant voltage, so that it is possible to absorb charged particles in plasma generating by radiation of laser beam through the center electrode, and dispersion of plasma can be restricted thereby. Even if a large volume of plasma is generated, a line of electric force from the annular electrode is not disturbed by plasma, and the variation of capacitance generating between the annular electrode and a workpiece can be prevented, thereby.

  • Patent number: 6606293
Abstract: There is disclosed an optical information recording medium having phase-change recording films whose the transmittance can be made substantially uniform irrespective of the presence or absence of recording. There are also disclosed methods for recording, reading, and erasing information well at a high density on such a medium. Each of the phase-change recording films other than the top one has a phase-change recording film for recording and erasing information by a phase change caused by illumination of laser light. A transparent upper protective film is formed on the phase-change recording film to protect the phase-change recording film mainly against thermal deformation during recording and erasing of information. A transparent lower protective film is formed under the phase-change recording film to protect the phase-change recording film mainly against thermal deformation during recording and erasing of information.

  • Patent number: 6117511
Abstract: An optical data recording medium utilizing reversible inter-crystalline-amorphous phase changes for recording, reproducing and erasing data as phase changes of a recording film caused by laser beam irradiation. The medium is formed by a lamination of a transparent substrate having tracking guide grooves for laser beam tracking, a base film formed on the substrate, a first protective film formed on the base film, a phase change type recording film formed on the first protective film, a second protective film formed on the recording film, and a reflecting film formed on the second protective film. Thus formed, the medium improves the over-writing characteristics of phase change type optical discs and permits high density recording.

  • Patent number: 5790499
Abstract: A method and apparatus for preventing generation of third generation data of an original data recorded on a read-only region of a partial read-only memory (ROM) optical disk includes an operation for copying source data from the partial read-only memory to a read-write medium by first attempting to write check data on a read-write region of the partial ROM optical disk. If the check data cannot be written, the copy operation terminates. If the check data can be written, the source data is overwritten. Then, the source data is copied from the partial ROM optical disk to the read-write medium.

  • Patent number: 5700481
Abstract: A calcitonin, its derivative or a salt thereof is transdermally delivered by iontophoresis in which a substantially constant voltage in the range of 3 to 20 V is applied at an electric current of 0.05 to 0.5 mA/cm.sup.2. In this process, the calcitonin can be delivered transdermally with a higher absorptivity by applying a higher voltage for a short period (at a voltage of about 6 to 14 V for about 5 to 15 minutes) in the initial stage of the voltage application, and then applying a lower voltage for a long period (at a voltage of about 3 to 9 V for about 30 to 40 minutes).
