  • Patent number: 7258588
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an image display device, having a plurality of spacers for keeping a gap between a pair of substrates, includes the steps gripping each of the spacers at both ends in a longitudinal direction of each spacer, installing the plural spacers on one of the pair of substrates while exerting a tensile force to the gripped plural spacers, and applying an adhesive to the plural spacers installed on the one substrate, to tentatively fix by the adhesive the plural spacers to the one substrate. The adhesive is heated so that the plural spacers tentatively fixed to the one substrate are finally fixed to the one substrate.

  • Publication number: 20060046601
Abstract: In installing spacers between a pair of substrates of an image display device, both end portions in a longitudinal direction of each spacer are gripped in a pair of hands. Thus, long spacers can be joined to the substrate efficiently and with high accuracy.

  • Patent number: 5593293
Abstract: A hand mechanism for a robot is attached to the distal end of an arm portion of a robot and has independent modules for executing predetermined elementary motions, which modules can be combined with each other in selected arbitrary combinations to attain desired elementary motions. The hand mechanism includes a holder module which includes a fixing member fixed to the arm portion, an attaching plate to be attached to other modules and a coupling mechanism for coupling the fixing member and the attaching plate. The coupling mechanism includes angle an adjustment pin for adjusting the attaching angle of the attaching plate about the arm portion, and a shear pin bolt for releasing a coupling state between the fixing member and the attaching plate upon application of a shock to the hand mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5323884
Abstract: A shock absorbing apparatus comprises a cylinder body having a cylinder chamber formed therein, a piston body reciprocatively held in the cylinder chamber and having a pair of piston rods outwardly projecting through hole portions respectively formed at the two end portions of the cylinder chamber, and a shock absorber for absorbing motion when one of the piston rods projects over one of the hole portions and the leading portion of the other piston rod is stopped in the other hole portion, so that a shock generated at the time of collision with an object is absorbed.

  • Patent number: 5315746
Abstract: A method for inserting an elastic ring having a peripheral opening within a workpiece. The elastic ring is first supplied to a ring receiving member, which then delivers the ring receiving member to an operating position. At the operating position, the diameter of the elastic ring is reduced by engaging portions on the ring receiving member. The diametrically reduced ring is then transferred to a finger member, which holds the ring in its reduced state and inserts the ring within the workpiece. The elastic ring is then released from the finger member and allowed to naturally expand within the workpiece.
