  • Patent number: 6285572
Abstract: A method whereby a plurality of inverters for converting DC power outputted from a DC power supply, such as solar cells or fuel cells, to AC power are operated efficiently without being biased to particular inverters. The number of inverters to be run is determined in correspondence with at least one output value of the DC output or AC output, and the determined number of inverters are selected and made to run from among the plurality of inverters on the basis of a predetermined rule. In addition, a parallel-connected system is disclosed for enabling efficient and appropriate parallel-in operation by the use of inverters, with one of the inverters controlling the remaining inverters and effecting system interconnection protection.

  • Patent number: 6082122
Abstract: There is provided a calibration method of a detecting section which is provided on a substrate incorporated into a system interconnection generator and which detects by detecting means an object to be detected or an value of the object to be detected. The calibration method comprises the steps of prior to the substrate being incorporated into the system interconnection generator, measuring by the detecting section a reference value of the object to be detected by the detecting section; storing at least one of an error with respect to the reference value measured by the measuring step and the measured value of the reference value in association with the measurement result; and after the substrate being incorporated into the system interconnection generator, outputting the measurement result of the detecting section based on at least one of the error and the measured reference value, stored by the storing step in association with the measurement result.

  • Patent number: 6058035
Abstract: After starting the input of a switching signal to a booster circuit whose boosting rate is changeable in accordance with the duty ratio of the inputted switching signal and calculating the output power of an inverter circuit, which is connected to the subsequent stage of the booster circuit, from the output current of the inverter circuit, the target voltage after boosting by the booster circuit is obtained based on the output power. If the actual output voltage of the booster circuit is lower than the target voltage, the duty ratio of the above switching signal is increased, and if higher, the duty ratio of the above switching signal is decreased.

  • Patent number: 6046919
Abstract: In order to obtain a solar power generating device capable of effectively using power generated by a solar cell, the virtual optimum operating voltage, the MPPT minimum voltage, the MPPT maximum voltage, and the low and high voltage change width switching voltages used when MPPT control is carried out are calculated on the basis of the output voltage of a solar panel immediately before the startup of the inverter circuit in the solar power generating device and the MPPT control is carried out on the basis of each of the calculated voltage values.

  • Patent number: 5973491
Abstract: A system interconnection generator comprising a power converting unit for converting solar energy into AC power by using a voltage chopping waveform, the ON duty of which is adjusted, thereby to supply the converted AC power to the system for a commercial AC power source. The distortion of the current waveform of the AC power supplied from the system interconnection generator to the system is detected to correct the ON duty of the chopping section after 360 degrees of the chopping section, in accordance with the distortion which has been detected.

  • Patent number: 5835383
Abstract: A system-interconnected generator permits effective use of surplus power generated by a solar battery for operating electric equipment such as an air conditioner. The system-interconnected generator having a power converter for converting solar energy to AC power and supplying the AC power to a system on a commercial AC power supply so as to make it possible to sell the power to the system is equipped with: a storing section for storing an integrated value of the AC power which has been converted from solar energy by the power converter; a correcting section for subtracting a value of power, which is consumed by particular electric equipment receiving power supplied from the system, from the integrated value stored in the storing section; and a demanding section for enabling a demanding function of the electric equipment when the integrated value stored in the storing section becomes smaller than a predetermined value.
