  • Patent number: 7089869
Abstract: A flange 52b is provided on a plate by bending the plate, the flange being substantially orthogonal to the plate, and a recessed portion, where the flange is missing, is provided between two flanges. A flange 62c is provided by bending another plate, and a raised portion is provided which protrudes from a parallel side 62b to flange 62c at an end portion of flange 62c. An end portion of flange 52c and end portion of flange 62c are abutted, and end portion of plate 60 is abutted to an outer side of the circular arc portion of flange 52b from the plate. The raised portion is abutted to the recessed portion, and respective abutted portions are welded. Where two plates in which a flange is provided by bending the plate are intended to be welded, the occurrence of a space in a welding portion can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 6532712
Abstract: A hollow frame member is constituted by two face plates 11, 12 (21, 22) joined in a truss shape by ribs. End portions of one of the face plates are positioned in the vicinity of an apex of the truss structure of the hollow frame member. End portions of the other of the face plates have a projection extending toward the end portions of the face plates. The face plates are joined by friction stir welding. Due to the presence of the ribs, the load during the friction stir welding time is easily supported.

  • Patent number: 6446562
Abstract: The present invention aims to manufacture a car body with ease. A hollow material 10 comprises the lower portion of a side structure 201 of the car body. A face plate 11 of the hollow material 10 at the external side of the car has a lower end which projects further downward than a face plate 12 at the internal side of the car. The lower ends of the face plates 11, 12 are connected by a rib 13. The hollow portion thus formed is triangular in shape. A rib 14 above the rib 13 is formed horizontally. The face plates 11, 12 and a rib 15 positioned above the rib 14 are eliminated from the region of one or more doorways 220. The lower end of the doorway 220 of the side structure 201 is equipped with the hollow portion, so that it stays strong against transfer of the side structure. A hollow-shaped material 110, which comprises the end portion of an underframe 203, has an end portion in the width direction which forms a slope (rib 114) facing towards the upper side of the external side of the car.

  • Publication number: 20020073888
Abstract: To a plate 50, a flange 52b provided by bending the plate, a flange 52 being orthogonal substantially to the flange 52b and provided bending the plate, and a recessed portion except for a flange between two flanges are provided. To a plate 60, a flange 62c provided by bending the plate, a raised portion protruded from a parallel side 62b to a flange 62c at an end portion in a longitudinal direction of the flange 62c and a vicinity of the end portion are provided. An end portion in a longitudinal direction of the flange 52c and the end portion in the longitudinal direction of the flange 62c are abutted and further an end portion of the plate 60 is abutted to an outer side of a circular arc portion of the flange 52b from the plate. The raised portion is inserted and abutted to the recessed portion and the respective abutted portions are welded. In a case where two plates in which a flange is provided by bending the plate are intended to a welding, an occurrence of a space in a welding portion can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20020069787
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to enable production of high-accuracy car body with ease. An underframe 10 is constituted by bonding together a plurality of hollow-shaped materials 50, 60 that are arranged along a longitudinal direction of a car body. The hollow-shaped material 60 constituting the end portion of the underframe 10 in the width direction is provided with a hollow-shaped material 65 corresponding to a part of a side sill. A hollow-shaped material 90 at the lower end of a side structure 20 is provided with a hollow-shaped material 95 corresponding to a part of a side sill. An overlap between a projecting segment 101 of the side sill 95 and the upper surface of the side sill 65 is welded from above. An overlap between a projecting segment 103 of the lower end and a projecting segment 73 is welded from below. The size of the overlap is provided in prospect of the shrinkage of the underframe 10 by welding the bolsters thereto.

  • Patent number: 6378264
Abstract: A hollow frame member is constituted by two face plates 11, 12 (21, 22) joined in a truss shape by ribs 13, 13A, 13B (23, 23A, 23B). End portions of one of the face plates 11 and 21 are positioned in the vicinity of an apex of the truss structure of the hollow frame member. End portions of the other of the face plates 12b and 22b have a projection extending toward the end portions of the face plates 11 and 21. The face plates 12b and 22b are joined by friction stir welding from an upper portion. Next, a connection member 30 is arranged between the ends of the face plates 11 and 21, and from an upper portion the friction stir welding is again carried out. Due to the presence of the ribs 13A, 13B (23A, 23B), the load during the friction stir welding time is easily supported. Since the truss structure is formed totally, a light weight structure with a high rigidity performance can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5301073
Abstract: A take-up pulley is provided with a power input member and a power output member which are radially divided, both of the members being engaged with each other over their peripheral surfaces. An elastic force of an annular elastic member acts on the engagement portion between both the power output member and the power input member in the peripheral direction in order to obtain a predetermined frictional engagement force between the power input member and the power output member.
