  • Patent number: 11748852
Abstract: A first group of interpolation calculators performing interpolation by mean preserving interpolation calculation, and a second group of interpolation calculators performing interpolation by interpolation other than the mean preserving interpolation calculation are provided. Each of the interpolation calculators performs interpolation calculation for the missing pixel to calculate an interpolation candidate value (M(h)), and calculates test interpolation values (M(t)) treating pixels in a vicinity of the missing pixel as test pixels. A decider (4) selects one of the plurality of interpolation calculators based on results of the test interpolation. An outputter (5) selects the interpolation candidate value outputted from the interpolation calculator selected by the decider (4), among the plurality of interpolation candidate values (M(h)), and outputs the selected interpolation candidate value.

  • Patent number: 9936098
Abstract: Image processors are provided for respective groups formed by grouping of images, the order of which is sequential when images respectively having overlapping portions corresponding to the same portion of an object are arranged so as to be adjacent to each other, and concurrently perform processing to detect combining-position information for combining an image in a group and an image adjacent to the image without any positional displacement by image-matching. The combining-position information between images belonging to different groups is respectively transferred, via combination-information transferring paths, between the image processors and between the image processors.

  • Patent number: 9185431
Abstract: In a motion detection device that detects motion from two frames of a video signal, a pattern matching detector determines pattern similarity between pixel blocks centered on a pixel of interest in the two frames to detect pattern motion. An edge detector detects edge presence and direction in a vicinity of the pixel of interest. A frame difference detector generates a smoothed frame difference signal for the pixel of interest. The smoothing is carried out within appropriate extents selected according to the detected pattern motion and edge direction. A motion information corrector generates motion information for the pixel of interest from the frame difference signal. Appropriate selection of the smoothing extent reduces motion detection mistakes. The motion information is useful in motion adaptive video signal processing.

  • Patent number: 8218083
Abstract: A video noise reducer processes a frame difference signal equal to the difference between the video signal of the current frame and the video signal of the preceding frame or the difference between the video signal of the current frame and the noise-reduced video signal of the preceding frame to obtain a motion detection signal and a noise detection signal. The difference between the motion detection signal and the noise detection signal is then processed to obtain a recursion coefficient. The frame difference signal is multiplied by the recursion coefficient and the resulting product is additively combined with the video signal of the current frame to reduce noise without generating significant motion artifacts.

  • Patent number: 7667721
Abstract: A gray-scale conversion means (10) converts the gray scale of an input video signal (100) as necessary, and outputs the video signal with the converted gray scale. A statistical processing means (13) detects a statistical property of each field or frame of the input video signal; a scene change detection means (16) detects scene changes in the input video signal. A conversion characteristic determination means (22) determines the gray-scale conversion characteristic according to outputs of the statistical processing means (13) and the scene change detection means (16). The gray-scale correction increases contrast regardless of image content, and enables faster response to changes in image content.
