The cooling air passage has a heat receiving part where heat of the circuit element is transmitted, and the heat receiving part is cooled by cooling air flowing to the cooling air passage.

    Abstract: An expanding apparatus includes a housing with a bearing surface on which a rear portion of a computer is to be placed, and engaging projections arranged on the bearing surface so as to be fitted individually in engagement holes of the computer. As an operating lever provided on the housing is swung up or down, the engaging projections is moved between a first position in which the computer is connected to a first expansion connector of the apparatus and a second position in which the connection is removed. The apparatus is provided with a photointerrupter and an actuating piece which are arranged in the housing, while the operating lever has a push projection which causes the actuating piece to switch the photointerrupter on and off as the lever is swung. When the operating lever is swung from a home position toward a release position with the computer connected to the external expanding apparatus, the photointerrupter detects this and delivers a warning signal to the computer.

An ejector mechanism includes an operating knob 280 and a pair of pushers 242a, 242b provided on both sides of the second connector, for pushing the rear surface of the computer so as to release the connection between the first and second connectors and to eject the computer from the connecting position.

    Abstract: A personal computer includes a box-shaped body having a rear surface provided with a first connector. The box-shaped body is mountable on an expanding apparatus having a second connector, in a manner which joins the first and second connectors, to expand the functions of the personal computer. The expanding apparatus includes an ejector mechanism for pushing the box-shaped body away from the expanding apparatus so that the first and second connectors are disconnected. A lock mechanism locks the box-shaped body to the expanding apparatus when the first and second connectors are connected. An interlock mechanism unlocks the lock mechanism when the ejector mechanism is operated. The expanding apparatus includes a grounding mechanism which moves a metal fitting into contact with the box-shaped body when the first and second connectors are connected and moves the metal fitting out of contact with the box-shaped body when the first and second connectors are disconnected.

A pair of retaining portions are formed on the supporting plate. The rear portion of the electronic device is mounted on the supporting portion and is positioned in its width direction by a pair of positioning members provided at the supporting portion. The front end portion of the electronic device is mounted on the supporting plate and the retaining portions engage the front edge of the electronic device so as to restrain the movement of the electronic device in the depth direction thereof. The position of the retaining portion is adjusted by moving the supporting plate, in accordance with the depth of the mounted electronic device.

A circuit board is arranged in the main body to oppose the upper surface and has a holding portion for detachably holding a CPU.

A connector is fixed to and electrically connected to the circuit board and located between the circuit board and the bottom wall. The connector has a connecting portion opposing the opening and allowing connection of the expansion board thereto. The connector also supports the circuit board. A restraining system is provided for restraining movement of the connector with respect to the bottom wall.

The protruding portion has an abutment portion which is brought into contact with the display rotated to the closed position and supports the display. When the display is rotated to the closed position, a hook on the display engages an engagement portion formed in the protruding portion.

Each of the guide members has an extended end, with a stopper provided on the extended end for abutting the support member when the support assembly is in the stand-by position. The stopper thus limits the movement of the connector.
