Abstract: A case has a penetrating hole, which is provided with a breathable film. A protective structure comprises a protective ring and a protective cap, and is provided outside the case so as to cover the breathable film. A gap between the protective ring and the protective cap is an opening connecting the inside and outside of the protective structure. In a cross-sectional view, an outside upper edge of the opening (i.e. point B) is positioned on or inside a straight line connecting an outer edge of the breathable film (i.e. point C) and an inside lower edge of the opening (i.e. point A). The breathable film can be protected from an intentional load applied thereto.

Abstract: The invention provides an aromatic tertiary amine represented by the general formula (I) wherein X represents an aromatic divalent group which is 1,4-phenylene, a 1,4-naphthalenediyl or a 9,10-anthracenediyl group, and which may have substituents thereon; and R1 to R6 are each independently represent an aromatic monovalent group which may have substituents thereon, preferably a phenyl or a naphthyl group. The aromatic tertiary amine is useful as an organic electronic functional material, and can be suitably used as a hole injecting agent in a variety of electronic devices such as an electroluminescence element.

Abstract: The invention provides nickel hydroxide secondary particles comprising agglomerates of primary particles of nickel hydroxide in the shape of a triangular prism or a triangular plate having a surface or a outer face in the form of a substantially equilateral triangle each side of which substantially equilateral triangle has a length of 1 to 10 &mgr;m. The invention further provides lithium nickel composite oxide secondary particles comprised of agglomerates of primary particles having a large particle diameter by mixing the nickel hydroxide secondary particles with a lithium compound and sintering the resulting mixture at a temperature of 600° C. to 1000° C. in an oxidative atmosphere.
