  • Patent number: 7889672
Abstract: A communication apparatus which transmits data to a transmission destination, and receives, from the transmission destination, an acknowledgement indicating that the data has been received stores, in a memory, first specific data for specifying a plurality of transmission data, and transmission time data indicating transmission times of the plurality of transmission data. Based on second specific data contained in the acknowledgement, the communication apparatus searches the memory for first specific data for specifying transmission data corresponding to the acknowledgement, and calculates a round trip time based on the transmission time of the transmission data specified by the found first specific data, and a reception time at which the acknowledgement is received.

  • Patent number: 5907329
Abstract: It can be determined without visually observing the display screen of a display device whether image conversion processing in a conversion circuit for outputting image data to the display device is being performed normally. The conversion circuit extracts data at a position designated from a host apparatus from image data output to the display device, and outputs the extracted data to the host apparatus. In the host apparatus, image data obtained upon normal conversion in the conversion circuit is prepared in advance, and this image data is collated with the data sent from the conversion circuit to determine whether the operation of the conversion circuit is normal.

  • Patent number: 5880702
Abstract: An image is displayed in an optimum state in accordance with the state of a display. For this purpose, an FLCD interface mounted in an information processing apparatus and an FLCD for actually displaying an image are connected through a data transfer bus for transferring image data to be displayed and a serial communication line for performing communications between them. When the FLCD detects a change in its own state, this information is supplied to a CPU of the FLCD interface through the serial communication line. An instruction for changing, e.g., the operating mode is also transmitted from the FLCD interface to the FLCD through the serial communication line.

  • Patent number: 5537552
Abstract: An information reproducing apparatus for reproducing recorded data includes a buffer, a control device and a determining device. The buffer stores data blocks read out from a recording medium and includes first and second storage areas having respectively discontinuous storing and read addresses. The apparatus is controlled to execute in parallel a first process for storing the data blocks into the buffer and a second process for reading out the data blocks stored in the buffer to transfer the data blocks to a host apparatus. The determining device determines whether there are data in the first storage area to be transferred to the host apparatus by comparing a storing address in the buffer of the data which are being stored into the first storage area with a read address in the buffer of the data which are being read out from the first storage area. The first process is controlled so that a predetermined data block which has been read out from the recording medium is stored into the second storage area.
