  • Patent number: 10431247
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a magnetic disk drive selects in command evaluation in reordering processing, a command accessible in a shortest time. The device determines whether media bumps which influence a dynamic flying height (DFH) control exist in a seek section between completion of a previous command and start of a selected command or not, calculates a latency necessary for avoidance of the media bumps if it is determined by the determination that the media bumps which influence the DFH control exist, and selects the command accessible in the shortest time including the time obtained by summing the latency calculated by the calculation as the command to be next processed.

  • Patent number: 8794207
Abstract: A method for processing a cylinder block is disclosed, wherein a protrusion protruding toward a crankcase is provided at a crankcase-side edge of a cylinder bore and a sprayed coating is formed on an inner surface of the cylinder bore and an inner surface of the protrusion continuous with the inner surface of the cylinder bore. After forming the sprayed coating, at least part of the protrusion is removed together with the sprayed coating formed on the inner surface of the protrusion. Accordingly, even in the case of removing the edge portion of the cylinder bore on the crankcase side, a sufficient margin to be removed can be ensured while a reduction in size of the cylinder block is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6701465
Abstract: In a defect information management method and apparatus of the present invention, a defect list contains a sequence of sets of first defect items with respective offset addresses thereof, each first defect item indicating a location of one of first defects on the storage medium, each of the offset addresses, exclusive of the final one, indicating a relative location of a following one of the corresponding set of first defect items for the offset address in the sequence from a beginning of the defect list. A second defect item is added to an end of the defect list when a second defect in a portion of the storage medium inclusive of a location identified by one of the sets of first defect items is detected. An offset address of the second defect item with respect to the beginning of the defect list is calculated.

  • Patent number: 6688674
Abstract: A compact vehicle production line. The production line comprises a floor process of assembling floor constituent parts. Each is an aluminum alloy extrusion die cast product, which has been made, in an extrusion die casting process, by forcing molten aluminum alloy through a mold cavity in a predetermined direction. The assembled floor constituent parts are welded to make a floor structure. In an interior parts mount process, interior parts are to the floor structure to make a floor unit. In a body main process, each of two body side structures are trimmed to make a body side unit. A roof structure is trimmed to make a roof unit. The floor unit, the body side units, and the roof unit are assembled. The assembly is welded to make a body unit. In a running parts mount process, an under running unit is mounted to the body unit.
