  • Patent number: 6197479
Abstract: A photosensitive resin composition comprising (A) a polymer as derived from its latex dispersion in water, (B) a hydrophilic photopolymerizable monomer, (C) rubber, and (D) a photopolymerization initiator, especially that as prepared by mixing (A′) a latex dispersion in water and (B) a hydrophilic photopolymerizable monomer to give a component (E), followed by kneading under heat the resulting component (E) with (C) rubber and (D) a photopolymerization initiator, can be developed with a developer not containing additives such as surfactants and alkali metal salts. The composition has good image reproducibility and is favorable to flexographic printing plates.

  • Patent number: 6093509
Abstract: A lithographic printing plate, in which (1) the non-image area of a hydrophilic swellable layer is 1 to 50 g/m.sup.2 in water absorbability, and the water absorbability of the image area is less than that of the non-image area, (2) the non-image area of a hydrophilic swellable layer is 0.01 to 10 kg/mm.sup.2 in initial modulus, and the initial modulus of the image area is larger than that of the non-image area, (3) the non-image area of a hydrophilic swellable layer is 10 to 2000% in water swelling ratio, and the water swelling ratio of the image area is less than that of the non-image area, or (4) the hydrophilic swelling layer has a phase separated structure consisting of at least two phases; a phase mainly composed of a hydrophilic polymer and a phase mainly composed of a hydrophobic polymer, can be produced from a new photosensitive lithographic original plate simple in development treatment, highly repellent against ink even without being etched, and allowing the use of pure water as dampening water.

  • Patent number: 5397681
Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided a laminate comprising a photosensitive layer and a silicone rubber layer both laminated successively onto a base substrate, in which a main component of the photosensitive layer is formed by an adduct obtained by an addition reaction of a photopolymerizable glycidyl (meth)acrylate and a monoglycidyl ether compound not having a photopolymerizable group with a diamine compound. Because of using a photosensitive layer having such a specific composition as mentioned above, the dry planographic printing plate obtained from the present invention is suitably employable in commercial web offset printing and newspaper web offset printing.

  • Patent number: 4957845
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a printing plate of which image formation is done by photoirradiation, having a front side covered waith a peelable or removable protective layer which contains a photofading material. The printing plate is safe against fogging to light and can be used under ordinary illumination.
