  • Patent number: 10118228
Abstract: A cutting insert includes a leading cutting edge having a rake angle in the range of 20° to 35° in a central region in a width direction; and a rake face having a breaker groove formed in the central region in the width direction and land portions formed in both end regions in the width direction. The land portions have a rake angle smaller than the rake angle in the central region in the width direction. The breaker groove includes opposing side faces separated from each other by a distance that decreases with increasing distance from the leading cutting edge and four shoulder portions of the same height that are formed on the opposing side faces at positions above the land portions, two of the shoulder portions being closer to the leading cutting edge and to outer sides in the width direction than the other two shoulder portions are.

  • Patent number: 9630255
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to configure a cutting-off processing tool that includes a cutting edge angled at an end cutting edge angle and causes evacuation of chips to be controlled so that the chips are evacuated in the tool axis direction, thereby reducing concerns about damage to a processed surface by the chips. The cutting-off processing tool includes a cutting edge angled at the end cutting edge angle. In the cutting-off processing tool, an upper surface has a shape laterally asymmetric about a center in a width direction. In the cutting-off processing tool, when ?b is a rake angle of a rake face on a first corner side positioned on a foremost end of the tool, and ?c is a rake angle of the rake face on a second corner side, ?b>?c is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 8459162
Abstract: In order to perform turning operations of the kind that has heretofore been performed by diamond-shaped inserts, an insert which is basically equilateral triangular in shape with multiple alternately usable cutting edges, of which all three corners are usable as cutting edges, without decreasing the positional accuracy of the cutting edge during cutting. At least one recess and a plurality of protrusions are formed on each side of the insert. The recess and protrusions formed on the insert are brought into engagement with a protrusion and recesses formed on a side wall of a seating groove formed in a holder. In this state, the insert is pressed against a bottom seating face and the side wall of the seating groove with a clamp as a means to stably restrain the insert. This prevents shifting of the cutting edge during cutting even if the direction of the cutting force changes.

  • Patent number: 7591209
Abstract: An object is to provide a vibration suppressing cutting tool which is inexpensive and can damp chattering extremely effectively, and which is simple in structure and is applicable to a wide variety of machining diameters and cutting conditions. The shank 2 of the holder 1 is formed with a pocket 4. In the pocket 4, a vibration suppressing piece 5 is received so as to be movable relative to the holder 1 and not protrudable from the pocket 4. Under kinetic energy from the holder during cutting, the vibration suppressing piece 5 alternately knocks against a pair of opposed inner wall surfaces 4a and 4b of the pocket along its surface, along a plurality of lines or on a plurality of points when the holder vibrates during cutting, thereby damping vibrations of the holder.

  • Publication number: 20070205208
Abstract: A container unit is composed of a lid and a unit body. A holder is a concave portion formed at a lower portion of the unit body. The lid is exposed at a lower surface of a camera body. The lid is slidable between a lock position where the lid is adjacent to a first inner surface of the holder, and a release position where the lid is adjacent to a second inner surface of the holder opposite to the first inner surface. An end portion of the lid is provided with a rotary shaft. Both ends of the rotary shaft engage with two elongate holes formed in lateral sides of the holder. The lid is slidably and rotatably retained by the holder.

  • Publication number: 20070081867
Abstract: In a boring tool with a coolant hole, a spray opening of a coolant hole formed in a shank is positioned with a radial offset from the shank center toward the side on which a cutting tool is formed. The spray opening is sloped at an angle of 0 to 10 deg from an axial center of the shank toward a cutting edge. Also, the spray opening is positioned so that a distance from the cutting edge to the opening is up to three times the shank diameter.

  • Publication number: 20060257216
Abstract: In order to perform turning operations of the kind that has heretofore been performed by diamond-shaped inserts, using a triangular insert with multiple alternately usable cutting edges, of which all three corners are usable as cutting edges, without lowering the positional accuracy of the cutting edge during cutting, according to the present invention, at least one V-shaped recess 5 and a plurality of V-shaped protrusions 6 are formed on each side of an insert 1 which is basically equilateral triangular in shape. The recess 5 and protrusions 6 are brought into engagement with a V-shaped protrusion and V-shaped recesses 18 formed on a side wall 12b of a seating groove formed in a holder 11. In this state, the insert 1 is pressed against a bottom seating face and the side wall of the seating groove with a clamp means to stably restrain the insert. This prevents shifting of the cutting edge during cutting even if the direction of the cutting force changes.

  • Publication number: 20020010868
Abstract: The present invention provides a data accumulation system wherein data storage process is simplified by using a portable communication device such as a notebook type PC as a data storage device. The data accumulation system of the invention comprises a pen scanner 21 as a data output device, a notebook type PC 22 as a data storage device and a portable terminal 23 as a data checking terminal. The pen scanner 21 reads a character string or the like in a document as an image and sends data of the image to the note PC 22. The note PC 22 generates thumbnail image data of the image data and sends the data to the portable terminal 23. When the thumbnail image is displayed on a display of the portable terminal 23, a user watches it and checks whether or not the data are worth storing. If the user decides to store the data, the user input a storage command from the portable terminal 23 to the note PC.

  • Patent number: 4571977
Abstract: A forging method for producing a flanged shaft such as, for example, a crankshaft, provided at its intermediate portion with a flange with the flanged shaft being formed from a blank having a diameter which is smaller than the diameter of the shaft end portions but large enough to prevent buckling of the blank when the latter is compressed in the axial direction. The blank is placed within a closed die apparatus and is axially compressed by a punch so that it is possible to produce the flanged shaft at a high dimensional precision and at a high yield, while reducing the time and labor for finishing work conducted after the forging, without requiring any large-size press.
