  • Patent number: 6866931
Abstract: An object of this invention is to provide an acrylonitrile based composite fiber having a new feeling different from that of an ordinary cellulose acetate fiber, cellulose fiber and acrylic fiber, excellent spinability, fiber properties and process ability of yarn spinning, and excellent functions, in particular, a deodorizing function and a moisture absorbing and retaining property. The composite fiber is comprised of 10 to 40% by weight of cellulose acetate and/or cellulose and 60 to 90% by weight of an acrylonitrile based polymer, and has a structure with the cellulose acetate and/or cellulose forming an island component in a cross section perpendicular to a fiber axis and the acrylonitrile based polymer forming a sea component.

  • Patent number: 5679372
Abstract: An absorbable spun, cotton-like topical hemostat containing fibers entangled with each other and being made of atelcollagen obtained by reconstituting solubilized collagen. Each of the fibers has a diameter of 10 to 70 .mu.m and a length of 3 to 70 mn. At least a part of the collagen molecules constituting the fibers are crosslinked by heat at a temperature of 50.degree. to 200.degree. C. The hemostat is swellable upon contact with blood. In use, the hemostat readily adapts to the shape of the hemorrhagic site, has an adhesiveness to a bleeding surface and provides an effective suppression of hemorrhage.

  • Patent number: 5238682
Abstract: Insectproofing fibers are disclosed in which the surface of the fibers is coated with a mixture of an organic insectproofing agent, an organic insectproofing agent included in a monomer-trimer type cyclodextrin having an average molecular weight of 3000 or less and an organopolysiloxane, and the interior of the fibers is also impregnated with the mixture. The insectproofing fibers have an insectproofing effect against bugs for a long period of time and the effect is durable.
