Abstract: A catalyst for the hydrogenation of CO and CO.sub.2 consists essentially of a metal oxide and gold. Synthesis of methanol and hydrocarbons by hydrogenation of CO and CO.sub.2 comprises establishing contact between a gaseous mass consisting of CO, CO.sub.2, and hydrogen and a catalyst consisting essentially of a metal oxide and gold.

Abstract: A device suitable for hanging a jacket and trousers is disclosed, which includes a main frame having an upper portion shaped to fit inside the jacket from shoulder to shoulder and a lower portion vertically spaced apart from the upper portion, a subframe having an upper part disposed between the upper and lower portions of the main frame and a lower part adapted for hanging the trousers, and a hook member having an end portion fixedly secured to the upper part of the subframe and a vertical extending portion slidably inserted through a through hole of the main frame, so that the subframe is movable relative to the main frame between a lower position where there is formed a space between the lower portion of the main frame and the lower part of the subframe to permit the trousers to be inserted therethrough and an upper position where the lower part of the subframe is engaged by the lower portion of the main frame to nip the trousers hung on the lower part of the subframe therebetween.

Abstract: A color cathode-ray tube where an electron beam selection mask with an aperture grille type beam selection electrode of a thin metal plate attached to a frame is supported by engagement of stud pins with support springs and is thereby positioned stably opposite to a color luminescent screen formed on the inner surface of a panel. A projection is formed on either the top of each stud pin or the bottom of each cap opposed thereto, while a recess is formed in the other for engagement with the projection in the direction orthogonal to the action of the support spring. The mutual contact portions of such projection and recess are coated with solid lubricant films so that the beam selection mask can be reset at its proper position despite any external impact applied thereto.

Abstract: An electron gun employed in a color cathode ray tube, or the like, adapted, when electron beams are deflected in a convergence free deflecting magnetic field, to achieve optimal focused conditions for both the electron beam landing at the center and that landing at the corners of a screen by making, within a principal converging region for converging the electron beams, the converging angle in the vertical direction smaller than that in the horizontal direction and by forming, within an object point forming region, the object point in the vertical direction at a further position than where the object point in the horizontal direction is formed.
