  • Patent number: 6946831
Abstract: There is provided a compact, noncontact rotary position sensor that accurately detects a rotary position of a rotating object. A magnetism throttling portion is provided in a midway point of a magnetic path. Two magnetic induction elements are disposed adjacently each other at the magnetism throttling portion. This arrangement effectively allows a magnetic flux to converge at the location, at which the magnetic induction elements are mounted. A noncontact rotary position sensor offering high sensitivity and high accuracy can then be obtained. It is also possible to simplify routing of signal lines from the two magnetic induction elements, since the two magnetic induction elements are adjacent to each other.

  • Publication number: 20050104581
Abstract: A rotational position sensor having a compact and simple structure, in which a magnetic surface can be formed to have a more accurate shape, and an electronically controlled throttle device for an internal combustion engine, which employs the rotational position sensor. The rotational position sensor comprises a pair of substantially half disk-shaped magnetic cores disposed in an opposed relation to each other with a magnetic sensitive device interposed therebetween, a pair of substantially arc-shaped magnetic cores disposed in an opposed relation to each other along outer peripheries of the half disk-shaped magnetic cores, and a permanent magnet fixed in contact with at least one of the arc-shaped magnetic cores. Magnetic flux generating from the permanent magnet flows successively through one of the arc-shaped magnetic cores, the half disk-shaped magnetic cores, and the other of the arc-shaped magnetic cores, followed by returning to the permanent magnet.

  • Patent number: 6779389
Abstract: Provided herein is a non-contact type rotational position sensor which is allowed to achieve intensification of parts, miniaturization, simplification of assembly, and higher accuracy. A rotor (a permanent magnet) is mounted on a rotational shaft. A Hall IC is interposed between an upper stator and a lower stator which are magnetic plates. The Hall IC is sensitive to magnetic flux density which varies according to a rotational position of the rotor. In a housing incorporating the rotor and the Hall IC is provided integrally a connector provided with an external connection terminal. Conductors for connecting external connection terminals and input/output terminals of the Hall IC are embedded into the housing by insert-molding. One ends of conductors are exposed at a fixed position where the input/output terminals are present. The terminals of the Hall IC are guided by a guide and joined to the one ends of conductors.

  • Patent number: 5417312
Abstract: A semiconductor acceleration sensor is formed by a cantilever having a conductive movable electrode of predetermined mass at one end, at least one pair of fixed conductive electrodes which are stationary with respect to the movable electrode located on opposing sides of the movable electrode, and gaps provided between the movable electrode and the fixed electrodes. To prevent the movable electrode becoming fused to the contacted fixed electrode, in a first aspect of this invention, an insulating layer is provided between the movable electrode and fixed electrodes, the layer being either on the movable electrode or on the fixed electrodes and in a second aspect the movable electrode or, preferably, the fixed electrodes, are formed of a high melting point material. In such a second aspect, to improve adhesion between the high melting point material and a substrate to which the fixed electrodes are mounted, a lower melting point material is firstly coated on the substrates.
