  • Patent number: 5590614
Abstract: This sewing machine is provided with a stop member for stopping the downward movement of the presser foot holder in the case that the cushion piece on the retainer is left out. This stop member is provided with a cushion piece on its upper surface to stop the abutting member provided in the presser foot holder in the shock-absorbed condition. Besides, this stop operation is performed in the condition where a clearance to place cloth is made between the upper surface of the bed and the lower end of the presser foot. As a result, in the normal condition, it is needless to say that the sewing work can be performed without damage of the cloth or without occurrence of big sound, and even in the abnormal condition that the cushion piece employed on the retainer to prevent the occurrence of the noise has been left out, the sewing work can be continuously performed preventing damage of the cloth or occurrence of excessively big sound.

  • Patent number: 5390613
Abstract: A multi-needle embroidering machine having a plurality of heads each carrying a plurality of needles for feeding differently colored threads has a color (i.e. thread) changing mechanism provided in each head for selecting a particular needle to be driven to feed a differently colored thread. An assembly for driving the color changing mechanism is incorporated in one head. The color changing mechanism in the one head and those that do not have a driving assembly are connected to each other by a rod, or rods which transmit a driving force from the former to the latter.

  • Patent number: 5348516
Abstract: A transaxle for a drive system of a vehicle including a midship transversely mounted engine. The transaxle comprising a transmission, a differential mechanism for differential action between a set of rear wheels of the vehicle, and a transfer case for transferring drive torque to a set of front wheels of the vehicle. The transmission has a main shaft extending transversely with respect to a logitudinal direction of the vehicle. Disposed rearwardly of the main shaft is the differential mechanism, while disposed forwardly of the main shaft is the transfer case. Drive torque from the main shaft is transferred via two power flows to a differential case of the rear differential mechanism and to an input shaft of the transfer case.

  • Patent number: 5349488
Abstract: A mode control ring having cams for operating various devices in a cassette tape recorder is rotatably mounted on a base plate. A normal pinch device and a reverse pinch device are mounted on the base plate. Each of the pinch devices comprises a capstan, a pinch roller provided on a swing lever so as to be engaged with the capstan, and an idler provided to be engaged with a reel gear. A power transmitting devices is provided for transmitting a driving power from a motor to each capstan. The normal pinch device, reverse pinch device are disposed along the circumference of the mode control ring, and each swing lever is arranged so as to be moved in the radial direction of the mode control ring. Selective operation of these devices is controlled by the rotatably mounted mode control ring, which has various cams formed on its inner peripheral surface, on its outer surface, and as grooves therein, which are engaged with cam following members of the devices.

  • Patent number: 5035114
Abstract: An air supply control system for an internal combustion engine comprises a supercharging device operative to perform selectively a first supercharging operation by which supercharging efficiently under a first condition wherein the engine operates with relatively small intake air flow is improved and a second supercharging operation by which supercharging efficiency under a second condition wherein the engine operates with relatively large intake air flow is improved, an operation detector for detecting engine operations, a traveling condition detector for detecting traveling conditions to a vehicle equipped with the engine, a supercharging operation controller operative to cause the supercharging device to perform the first supercharging operation when a first engine operation attended with relatively small intake air flow is detected by the operation detector and to perform the second supercharging operation when a second engine operation attended with relatively large intake air flow is detected by the ope

  • Patent number: 4794476
Abstract: A starting mechanism for an ejection mechanism of a cassette tape deck, particularly, a compact cassette deck which may be used for automotive applications and which is automatically operated in response to stopping of rotation of a reel unit of the cassette deck. A power lever is mounted to be reciprocal in a predetermined direction by a reel unit drive motor of the deck when the reel unit stops rotating. A selection lever, having an operator-actuable end, is juxtaposed with the power lever and movable reciprocally in the same predetermined direction to engage the power lever to move therewith when a head base of the deck is in an advanced position. Thereby, the selection lever is reciprocal between positions of engagement and disengagement with and from the power lever with one end thereof as the center.

  • Patent number: 4689701
Abstract: A cassette loading mechanism for a cassette deck which contributes to the compactness of the deck. The loading mechanism includes a movable member which engages a cassette and which is movably mounted to slide in directions in which the cassette is inserted and ejected. The movable member is biased in the ejecting direction. A cassette holder is movable between a raised position where the inserted cassette is held and a lowered position where the cassette as held is set in a play position, the cassette holder being biased in the direction of the lowered position. A control arm, which is rotatably mounted on a frame, controls the movement of the cassette holder towards the lowered position. A lock arm, rotatably mounted on the control arm, locks the movable member when the movable member is moved a predetermined distance in the insertion direction of the cassette. A single biasing device biases the control arm in a control direction and the lock arm in a locking direction.
