  • Patent number: 6124219
Abstract: A functional material which fades in color with the volatilization of volatile agents such as fragrant agents, deodorant agents, antibacterial agents, etc. so that a user can visually check the end of the effect of such agents. A volatile agent and an oil-soluble dye having a dissolving proportion of 0.0001-1% are carried on a porous carrier undyeable with, i.e. low in affinity for the oil-soluble dye. The content of the oil-soluble dye is 0.1-100 .mu.g per square centimeter of the effective surface area of the porous carrier.

  • Patent number: 5880150
Abstract: An antimicrobial agent comprising allyl isothiocyanate (AIT) packaged in a packaging material having a structure wherein part of the pores of a porous packaging substrate is filled with, or said pores are partially or entirely narrowed by a resin impervious to AIT vapor, and a method for controlling the AIT vapor release speed comprising enclosing AIT in the above-mentioned packaging material. According to the present invention, the AIT vapor release speed can be controlled, whereby enabling sustained release of AIT vapor and persistent effect of antimicrobial action. In addition, the antimicrobial agent of the present invention can be widely applied to food industries and various other fields where breeding and reproduction of deleterious microorganisms pose problems, since it is economical, compact and easy to use.

  • Patent number: 5616166
Abstract: In tapping method in which molten iron (16) and molten slag (18) are discharged from a blast furnace, a conducting pipe (30) is connected to the external side of a molten iron taphole (12), and an electromagnetic energy supply body (32) is disposed around the outer periphery of the conducting pipe (30), whereby a turning motion or a magnetic pressure due to an electromagnetic repulsive force to the molten iron flowing in the conducting pipe (30) for separating the molten iron (16) from the molten slag (18) thus controlling the discharge rates thereof. With this tapping method, it becomes possible to keep substantially constant the discharged amounts of molten iron and molten slag from the blast furnace during a period from the starting to the completion of the tapping and significantly reduce the number of drilling/blocking upon tapping, and hence to stabilize quality of products and save the tapping work.

  • Patent number: 5494026
Abstract: A connecting structure of a blast furnace hot stove of the type in which a heat accumulation chamber dome and a combustion chamber dome are directly connected to each other through a dome connecting pipe which does not have any expansion joint. The ratio (RD/TD) of the diameter (RD) of the dome connecting pipe to the diameter (TD) of the heat accumulation chamber dome approximately meets the condition wherein 0.24.ltoreq.(RD/TD).ltoreq.0.60, while the ratio (RD/ND) of the diameter (RD) of the dome connecting pipe to the diameter (ND) of the combustion chamber dome approximately meets the condition wherein 0.44.ltoreq.(RD/ND).ltoreq.0.80. The connecting structure may have a reinforcement ring provided on straight barrel portions immediately under the heat accumulation chamber dome and the combustion chamber dome, and a connecting beam may be fixed at one end to one of the reinforcement rings and engage at its other end with the other of the reinforcement rings for limited sliding motion.

  • Patent number: 4389044
Abstract: A mechanical punching apparatus for punching tuyeres in which the position of punching rods is varied in a one action in correspondence to movement of the tuyere and in which the mechanical puncher, a carriage and a puncher tilting device are readily accessible for overhaul and maintenance. A mechanical puncher including punching rods assemblies is mounted on a carriage which moves on rails along the longitudinal direction of a converter. A link structure is arranged between the puncher and the carriage for tilting and moving the puncher with the movement being restricted along a predetermined locus having a center at the center of rotation of the converter. The link includes first and second sets of levers disposed between the carriage and puncher with a coupling rod pivotally coupled between levers.

  • Patent number: 4353530
Abstract: Method and apparatus for punching the tuyeres of a converter with a mechanical puncher mounted upon a carriage running on rails. Light intercepting plates encoded by light transmission holes are disposed opposite each tuyere. Light is shone towards the light intercepting plates and detected on the opposite side thereof by photoelectric elements the outputs of which are coupled to a digital processor which controls the speed and position of the carriage. The mechanical puncher has two cylinders each of which drives two punching rods to successively punch the tuyeres. If it is impossible to punch a tuyere with the mechanical puncher were moving in one direction, the position of the puncher is shifted by one tuyere to start the punching again in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 4351561
Abstract: A locking device for an openable automobile roof lid is provided. The base plate of the device is fixed to the edge of an opening formed in the roof panel. It is further formed with a hook portion at its one end. The lid to close the opening carries a handle at a portion corresponding to the hook portion of the base plate. To this handle, one end of a link is pivotally connected. From the other end of the link, a shaft pin projects and is rotatably fitted in the hook portion. To hold the shaft pin in the hook portion the base plate is provided with a stopper which is adapted to retract and release the shaft pin from the hook portion.

  • Patent number: 4303229
Abstract: A mechanical punching device for punching the tuyeres of a converter properly independently of the angle of inclination of the converter. Link mechanisms, each having two turning arms, are provided on both sides of a carriage with the two turning arms being connected together by the end shaft of the link drive device. The end shaft is a link drive device movable vertically so that the distance between one of the supporting shafts which serves as a fulcrum and one of the holding shafts of the mechanical puncher on the side of the punching rod is shorter than the distance between the other supporting shaft and the other holding shaft. The holding shafts slide along guide slots formed in the side wall of the carriage. The angle of inclination and horizontal and vertical positions of the mechanical puncher are thereby changed with a single operation of the link drive device.
