  • Patent number: 5366130
Abstract: A device is adapted to reduce as much as possible the effective length of a spring for providing a load on a mobile member, such as a dancer roller for absorbing the slackness in a web of packaging material, with respect to the distance by which it may move. Two pinions with different diameters are affixed to the mobile member, the larger pinion engaging with a mobile rack and the smaller pinion engaging with a fixed rack. The mobile rack is adapted to move so as to cancel the displacement by the mobile member by a distance determined by the ratio of the diameters of the pinions, thereby reducing the effective length of the spring.

  • Patent number: 5356260
Abstract: A loading/unloading vehicle having booms and a bucket carried thereon such as a shovel loader, a wheel loader or the like vehicle detects that a true bucket-to-ground angle coincides with a preset angle after the vehicle starts automatic turning movement of the bucket. When the coincidence is detected, the automatic turning movement of the bucket is interrupted. Thereafter, a differential value between the true bucket-to-ground angle and the preset angle is determined, if any and then the bucket angle is corrected so as to allow the differential value to be reduced to zero. Consequently, the bucket is held at the preset angle after the bucket stops, even though the booms continue to be turned.

  • Patent number: 5287179
Abstract: An image display system is provided in which an image to be displayed is subdivided into a plurality of images. The plurality of images are displayed on a plurality of display devices. An image is converted to a high definition television signal, and then converted to a plurality of signals compatible with standard television systems. Since the image is subdivided electronically, mismatching between screens is avoided. Further, when the input image to be displayed has an aspect ratio larger or smaller than that of the high definition television system, the displayed image is appropriately shifted, thus eliminating hardware and reducing the system cost.

  • Patent number: 5279098
Abstract: A horizontal sealer for a vertical pillow type form-fill-seal packaging machine has a pair of horizontally elongated heater assemblies which are supported such that they remain horizontal as they individually rotate around mutually parallel axes. The distance between these axes are varied as the heater assemblies rotate around them such that the heater assemblies have generally D-shaped trajectories as they horizontally seal a tubularly formed thermoplastic flexible film material to make a bag. Mechanisms are provided whereby the heating surfaces of the assemblies remain oriented in the same direction, the pressure applied to the film material can be controlled and the bag can be squeezed before the horizontal sealing such that articles being packaged will settle inside the bag. A similarly structured vertical sealer may be provided to a horizontal pillow type packaging machine.

  • Patent number: 5237798
Abstract: A form-fill-seal type packaging machine pulls an elongated film out of a film roll, directs it to a former to roll the film into a cylindrical form and produces bags by longitudinally sealing the overlapping side edges of the film and transversely sealing the tubular film at top and bottom positions. A roller-like film-guiding piece normally disposed adjacent to the former is on a slidable base plate so as to be retractable away from the former for the convenience of the operator when the film is initially set or when the former is replaced by another one. The slidable plate can be automatically stopped at its normal position adjacent to the former by detecting the extension of the former by a sensor. A device for straightening the film undergoing a zigzag motion is also supported by this slidable plate and hence can be retracted away from the former.

  • Patent number: 5174096
Abstract: A form-fill-seal packaging machine, which pulls out an elongated film from a film roll and transports it to a former to form it in a tubular shape, includes a mechanism with two parallel rollers such that the film path can be shifted transversely. The two rollers are formed as two sides of a linked parallelogram unit, of which the shape is automatically changeable according to the direction of the rollers so as to reduce the transverse distance by which the film will have to slide on the rollers. According to another embodiment, the packaging machine has its film-supporting shaft extending in backward direction. A horizontal rod disposed diagonally to the path of the film causes it to turn by 90 degrees towards the former at a front part of the machine. This diagonal rod is adapted to move horizontally in the forward-backward direction, depending on the width of the film being transported such that the film is accurately directed to the former.

  • Patent number: 5160422
Abstract: The invention provides a bath for immersion plating a substance with a tin-lead alloy, which includes tin(II) ions, lead(II) ions, organic sulfo groups and thiourea or a mixture of thiourea and a thiourea derivative for a complexing agent. The organic sulfo groups allow insoluble thiourea complexes to be stably dissolved in the solution of the bath; thereby there is no need to retain the bath at a high temperature. Compared with conventional baths for immersion plating, the bath of the invention attains stable plating and a longer life of itself. Addition of the thiourea derivative prevents whiskers from being deposited and allows uniform and sufficiently smooth plating.

  • Patent number: 5125217
Abstract: A film-pulling apparatus for a packaging machine includes guide plates with arcuate inner surfaces. A cylindrically formed bag-making film material is pulled down inside these guide plates while being adsorbed to their inner surfaces by the negative pressure inside suction vacuum chambers flanking the path of the film material. A pair of pull-down belts is vertically stretched between pulleys adjacent to the path and over the suction vacuum chambers. The belts have many holes such that the negative pressure from the suction vacuum chambers is communicated to the film material through the pull-down belts as the pulleys rotate to pull down the film material. An auxiliary vacuum chamber is connected to the suction vacuum chamber through a normally closed valve such that the vacuum condition in the suction chamber can be quickly restored by opening this valve when an abnormal pressure condition in the suction vacuum chamber is detected.

  • Patent number: 5116187
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with an automatic speed changing apparatus preferably employable for a wheel loader. The subject of the present invention is to assure that no shift-down is carried out even when braking is effected and thereby a vehicle speed is reduced when the wheel loader approaches a dump truck (operation IV) during running of the wheel loader, e.g., along V-shaped tracks as shown in FIG. 4, whereby an operation can smoothly be performed without an occurrence of falling-down of load placed on the wheel loader while preventing an operator from feeling unpleasant. To accomplish the foregoing subject, the apparatus of the present invention is constructed such that determination as to whether or not the wheel loader is approaching the dump truck (operation IV) is made based on the determination as to whether or not lift arms (1a) are raised up to perform a loading operation, and if it is found that the foregoing determination is correct, the current speed stage is maintained.
