  • Patent number: 5307221
Abstract: A tape recorder used in a telephone message recorder, etc. includes a mode switching mechanism which switches over electrically between various working modes. The mechanism utilizes the operation of one solenoid and the rotational force of a motor, in which the operation of the solenoid is used as a trigger for the mode switching over and the sliding of a head base plate and gear switching are effected by the rotational force obtained through an assist gear.

    Inventors: Akira Mikawa, Masao Kamijo
  • Patent number: 4956734
Abstract: A mode changeover mechanism for tape recorders is provided in which any solenoid is not used, and in which a capstan gear is rotated and a gear arm is turned by a motor rotatable in opposite directions to selectively rotate a supply or take-up reel, and the engagement of the capstan gear with an assist gear having a toothless segment is controlled by the turning of the gear arm to vary the position of a head plate by eccentric and changeover cams formed on the assist gear, thereby changing the operation modes of a tape recorder.

  • Patent number: 4819891
Abstract: A mode changing mechanism of a tape recorder used in an automatic telephone answer apparatus. In order to omit a solenoid, a pinch roller is driven to or away from a capstan shaft upon a mode changing by a mechanism including a gear arm, gears and cam, etc. driven by a bidirectional motor.

  • Patent number: 4720755
Abstract: A tape recorder includes a single solenoid selectively switched between a long time energization and a short time energization; a trigger arm activated by the solenoid; an assist gear having a non-toothed portion and controlled in angular position by the trigger arm; and a head plate controlled in position by the assist gear. The assist gear has control members to fix the head plate at a stop position, recording/reproducing position or intermediate position between them in response to selective energization of the solenoid for the long time or the short time.
