  • Patent number: 6681707
Abstract: A sewing machine 100 comprises a nonvolatile memory 43, and it is possible to select two kinds of set modes including a normal mode and an initial set value changing mode when starting up the sewing machine 100. The initial set value changing mode is selected in regulation or maintenance after the assembly of the sewing machine 100. In the initial set value changing mode, a set value for a sewing work stored in a ROM 42 is exactly maintained or is properly changed, and is thus stored in the nonvolatile memory 43. Consequently, the set value for the sewing work is optimized depending on the sewing machine 100 which is mass-produced. The normal mode is selected in a normal sewing work. In the normal mode, the set value stored in the nonvolatile memory 43 is properly changed depending on each sewing work and is thus stored in a RAM 44.

  • Publication number: 20040000661
Abstract: A composite material for piezoelectric transduction which exhibits a sufficient piezoelectricity, can be suitably utilized in various fields as a damping material and the like, and can be suitably utilized in the fields that require heat resistance. The composite material for piezoelectric transduction of the present invention absorbs external vibration or the like as strain energy, efficiently transforms the strain energy into electricity, and is capable of dissipating the electricity as heat, by using a material for piezoelectric transduction which is excellent in mass production at low cost and handlings. One of the preferable aspect of the composite material for piezoelectric transduction is to include a domain which exhibits piezoelectricity in a matrix material of the composite material for piezoelectric transduction, in which the domain is formed of a material for piezoelectric transduction which contains a main chain liquid crystal polymer.

  • Patent number: 6538970
Abstract: A disk device is comprised of a CD conveying mechanism which performs the uptake and ejection of CDs by a conveying roller 11. An MD conveying mechanism drives a clamp lever rotating mechanism which performs the refuge of the clamp lever 17 from an initial position and the return of the clamp lever 17 to an initial position by being driven by a CD loading drive motor. A CD is clamped by a clamp mechanism when the CD is loaded onto a fixed position in the device and directed to a turntable. When an MD 24 is loaded or ejected, the MD conveying mechanism drives the refuge or return of the clamp lever 17. The placement of an MD 24 on a turntable is performed by an MD placing mechanism which is driven as a result of an MD 24 being taken up to a fixed position in the device.

  • Publication number: 20020191747
Abstract: In order to provide a single, small apparatus capable of elemental and structural analysis of inorganic matter by utilizing X-rays having non-obstructive and non-contact characteristics there is provided a small, energy distribution type X-ray detector for detecting X-ray fluorescence and subjecting the X-ray fluorescence to elemental and quantative analysis, and a CCD line sensor for performing structural analysis. An X-ray tube target structure that is a Cu layer on an Mo layer is adopted. When excitation is performed using a low accelerating voltage, this is made monochromatic by using a Cu filter to filter the Cu-K lines and the continuous X-rays generated, with the radiation quality (Cu-K lines) thus generated then being utilized in X-ray diffraction.

  • Publication number: 20020078214
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a control method and a control system for controlling a load on a second system such as a server computer. Upon receiving a service initiation request from a first system, a control system determines a load level of the load on the second system. Based upon the load level of the load on the second system, the control system generates a ticket which contains an identifier associated with the service initiation request from the first system and a service initiation period during which service can be provided by the second system to the first system. The control system sends this ticket to the first system to notify the first system of the service initiation time so that access to the second system can be balanced without overloading.
