  • Patent number: 4606990
Abstract: A method for forming a thin layer of one-component non-magnetic developer on the surface of a developer carrying member in a dry type developing device using one-component non-magnetic developer. The non-magnetic developer is supplied to the surface of the developer carrying member, a magnetic blade is disposed with a clearance to the surface of the developer carrying member, and a stationary magnet is disposed across the developer carrying member from the magnetic blade and upstream of the magnetic blade with respect to the direction of movement of the developer carrying member to confine the magnetic particles if formed between the magnet and the magnetic blade. The developer carrying member with the developer is moved past the confined magnetic particles to form a thin layer of dry one-component non-magnetic developer on the surface of the developer carrying member.

  • Patent number: 4504136
Abstract: Disclosed is a developing device in which a movable developer carrying member is disposed in opposed relationship with an image bearing member and one-component magnetic developer is supplied to the developer carrying member and conveyed to a developing area to effect development and which has a developing magnetic pole inside the developer carrying member facing the developing area, the magnetic pole being disposed at a position deviated toward the upstream side with respect to the direction of movement of the developer carrying member from the nearest point between the image bearing member and the developer carrying member.

  • Patent number: 4413899
Abstract: A copying method for producing duplicates of an original of at least two colors by using a composite photosensitive member including more than two photosensitive layers, wherein the photosensitive member is subjected to charging more than twice and exposed to an optical image of the original more than once by changing charging and exposing conditions, to vary charge carried on the surface and in the interior of the photosensitive member. This causes two types of electrostatic image to be formed on the surface of the photosensitive member; one type includes image regions having a positive surface potential, a negative surface potential and a substantially zero surface potential respectively and the other type includes two image regions having different surface potentials of same polarity respectively, and one image regions of substantially zero surface potential, depending on differences in color between image regions of the original corresponding to the image regions on the photosensitive member.

  • Patent number: 4329416
Abstract: A method for preparing an electrophotographic element wherein in the formation of a co-crystalline complex photosensitive layer a conducting substrate or another photosensitive layer is over-coated with a solution consisting essentially of a pyrylium dye and an electric insulating polymer and dried at least two times respectively.
