  • Publication number: 20010016087
Abstract: The linear guide apparatus includes a guide rail 3 including a rolling body rolling groove 8 and a friction apply unit 6 assembled to the guide rail 3. The friction apply unit 6 includes a unit main body 15, a brake member 16, an oil pressure cylinder 17 and a plate spring 32. The brake member 16 is disposed so as to face the side surface 3a of the guide rail 3 and can be contacted with the other portions of the side surface 3a than the rolling body rolling groove 8 thereof. The oil pressure cylinder 17 includes a piston member 20 which is structured to be driven in a positive direction to thereby press the brake member 16 against the side surface 3a of the guide rail 3 and also the piston member 20 can be driven in the opposite direction to thereby remove the pressure of the brake member 16 from the side surface 3a.

  • Patent number: 5661780
Abstract: A cordless telephone can include a base unit including a cordless telephone circuit, a power source circuit and a resistor connected between a pair of power output terminals of the power source circuit, and a handset unit including a cordless telephone circuit, a secondary battery, a circuit connected between a charging terminal which receives power supply output from the power source circuit and a terminal of the secondary battery and consisting of a diode and a resistor connected in parallel to each other and a power break detection circuit. The secondary battery is usually charged by power supply from the power source circuit via the charging terminal and diode when the handset unit is placed in a cradle of the base unit, and electric power is supplied from the secondary battery to the cordless telephone circuit in the handset unit to operate in intermittent reception mode.

  • Patent number: 5493605
Abstract: The present invention eliminates the need for non-audio communications performed between base units and handset units to identify the handset unit existing communication zones, and thereby reduces the consumption of handset unit batteries to extend the lives thereof. The cordless system telephone apparatus in accordance with the invention comprises a control unit connected to a public communication network through telephone lines, a plurality of base units connected to the control unit, and a plurality of handset units communicating with the base units by way of radio waves. In waiting states where the handset units are not in audio communication with the base units, the control unit does not carry out, through the communications with the base units, identifications or registrations of the communication zones in which the handset units exist. The switching of the base units for higher communication qualities is only conducted during audio communications.

  • Patent number: 5426690
Abstract: A cordless telephone apparatus detects the received field strength in a receive channel, as viewed from the base unit side, and if the field strength is below a prescribed level outputs an out-of-range signal on a receive channel, as viewed from the base unit side. The remote unit is provided with a volatile memory area for storing channel connection state data indicating whether or not two-way radio communication was established between the remote unit and the base unit. A backup power source enables the contents of the volatile memory area to be maintained even if there is an interruption in the supply of power from the battery in the remote unit. A call resumption control circuit to resume transmission of call information from the remote unit when internal power in the remote unit is supplied from the battery.

  • Patent number: 5354528
Abstract: A process for producing a preform having a buffer layer for use in compositing a metal matrix composite where the buffer layer is provided at a boundary between a composited portion and a non-composited portion of a metallic material in the metal matrix composite. The process includes subjecting a first dispersion including a liquid medium and a ceramic whisker homogeneously dispersed in the liquid medium to filtration under pressure to form a primary processed preform having a volume fraction of 12 to 30%, depositing on the primary processed preform a second dispersion including a liquid medium and, homogeneously dispersed therein, a binder and at least one member selected from the group consisting of a short fiber and a ceramic whisker, and drying the primary processed preform to form a buffer layer having a volume fraction lower than the volume fraction of the primary processed preform and in a range from 2 to 10%.

  • Patent number: 5163303
Abstract: A double-walled tube type open rack evaporating device comprising a plurality of heat-exchanging pipes each of a double-walled tube structure having an inner tube and an outer tube in communication with the inner pipe at one end to constitute a heat-exchanging panel, a liquefied gas inlet header tank connected to one end of the inner tube, an exit header tank connected to one end of the outer tube, and a heating means for gradually evaporating a liquefied gas that flows from the liquefied gas inlet header tank into the inner tube and then delivering the gas as a gas at a normal temperature to the exit header tank. Deposition of ice can be avoided and the amount of sea water used as a heat medium can be reduced to save electric power consumption in a sea water pump. Flow rate and calorie hunting can be prevented to make LNG and NG flows stable.

  • Patent number: 4548774
Abstract: The invention provides a method for preparing a SiC whisker-reinforced composite material. A matrix material such as a metal, an alloy or a plastic is introduced into a fibrous base consisting of a SiC whisker sponge-like cake. The resultant structure is compressed into a desired shape as needed. The fibrous base is prepared by heating a mixture of silica gel or ashed rice hulls with a furnace carbon black and an additional amount of NaCl as a space forming agent for forming spaces conducive to whisker growth.
