  • Patent number: 9118059
Abstract: The electronic equipment disclosed in the present application realizes a battery attachment/detachment mechanism with the reduced number of components, by biasing a slide lever 11 to a protrusion position by a biasing force of a switch lever 13a of a switch 13. More specifically, in the electronic equipment disclosed in the present application, it is unnecessary to provide biasing means for biasing the slide lever 11 to the protrusion position in addition to the switch 13, the number of components is reduced as compared with the configuration provided with biasing means in addition to the switch. By reducing the number of components, the cost is reduced and the assembly time in assembling notebook computers is reduced, thereby improving workability in the assembly.

  • Patent number: 8748026
Abstract: Information-processing equipment includes a chassis having a housing section, the housing section including an opening portion for insertion of a battery pack, a back wall opposing a mounting end surface of the battery pack, a pair of side walls opposing a pair of side surfaces of the battery pack, and a ceiling wall opposing a mounting flat surface of the battery pack. The side walls having guide rails to engage slot portions on the side surfaces and to guide insertion of the battery pack. The guide rails engaging the slot portions, such that, until the amount of insertion of the battery pack reaches a predetermined value, a predetermined gap is ensured between the mounting flat surface and the ceiling wall, and when the amount of insertion of the battery pack has reached the predetermined value, the mounting flat surface is closer to the ceiling wall to eliminate the gap.

  • Patent number: 8531836
Abstract: The position of an electronic apparatus can be stabilized. At least one of foot portions of a notebook computer includes a height adjustment mechanism consisting of a ground contact member, a height adjustment member, and a screw. Thus, even if a variation in height dimension among the foot portions, deformation of a first housing, or the like causes the first housing to become unsteady, the unsteadiness of the first housing can be cancelled by adjusting the height of the foot portion to any height.

  • Patent number: 8498123
Abstract: In a unit holding mechanism, a first slide lever 31 and a second slide lever 32 are slidable in directions different from those of a third slide lever 41. Thus, it is possible to prevent an erroneous removal of battery units 21 and 22 and an HDD unit 23. More specifically, since the sliding directions of the slide switches vary with the type of unit to be loaded/unloaded, a user can identify the unit to be loaded/unloaded by examining only the sliding directions of the slide switches by the touch. Thus, even if the user attempts to remove the unit without viewing a bottom surface 1b of a first housing 1, it is possible to reduce the possibility of a misoperation in which a unit other than the intended unit is removed erroneously.

  • Patent number: 8395888
Abstract: A laptop computer includes: a substantially rectangular first chassis accommodating a display section; a substantially rectangular second chassis accommodating an operation control section; and a hinge mechanism coupling one side of the second chassis and one side of the first chassis. Another side parallel to the one side of the first chassis is configured so that only its widthwise central portion in parallel to the one side lays side-by-side to form a substantially flat face with another side of the second chassis when the chassis are closed together. The other side of the first chassis is configured, in a planar view, so that the more it departs from the central portion toward an edge portion in the widthwise direction, the more it comes closer to the one side of the first chassis than to the other side of the second chassis when the chassis are closed together.

  • Patent number: 8297824
Abstract: To solve an uneven light quantity caused in a case where a light guide plate, in which light from a spot light source such as an LED enters an surface, changes by 90 degrees and exits the light to the outside, is used as a backlight. The light guide plate of the invention includes a light flux unifying region. The light flux unifying region has an incident surface, a first surface, and an exit surface. Light fluxes emitted from a light source enter the incident surface. The first surface is almost perpendicular to the incident surface and the intensity distribution of the light fluxes having entered is unified at the first surface. The exit surface is disposed almost parallel with the incident surface and the unified light fluxes exit from the exit surface. A boundary line between the incident surface and the first surface has a zigzag surface.

  • Patent number: 8243444
Abstract: Electronic equipment includes a protruding member on a bottom surface of a first housing. Thus, when a user holds a notebook PC with one hand, a palm is brought into contact with the protruding member, whereby the hand is less likely to shift relative to the first housing. Consequently, the notebook PC can be held in a stable position. Further, the protruding member is attachable/detachable with respect to the first housing. Thus, it is possible to place the electronic equipment on a planar surface such as a desk surface in a stable position by removing the protruding member.

  • Publication number: 20120162885
Abstract: When a peripheral device is connected to an information processing apparatus, the peripheral device is contained without protruding from the information processing apparatus, and therefore, the peripheral device and the information processing apparatus are protected. A recess is provided in a side surface of a first housing and a USB port is disposed within the recess, and thus, the USB device connected to the USB port can be prevented from significantly protruding from the first housing. Moreover, in the case of a USB device with a reduced-size main body portion, the main body portion can be contained in the recess without protruding from the first housing. Accordingly, a situation in which a user snags his/her clothing or the like on the USB device can be avoided, and thus, damage to the USB device or a notebook computer can be avoided.
