The rubber portion contains dioctyl sebacate and trimellitic acid ester in a mass part ratio of 1:19 to 1:1, the mass percentage of the dioctyl sebacate to the whole quantity of the rubber portion is less than 4 mass %, and the mass percentage of the total quantity of the dioctyl sebacate and the trimellitic acid ester to the whole quantity of the rubber portion is in a range from 4 mass % to 8 mass %.

    Abstract: A toothed belt includes: a belt main body in which a plurality of cords are arranged side by side in a widthwise direction of a rubber layer; a plurality of teeth portions formed at one surface of the belt main body; and a tooth cloth covering surfaces of the teeth portions. A cloth base material is obtained by impregnating a surface layer rubber composition into an original canvas and by forming a surface layer, and an adhesion layer rubber composition is attached to one surface of the cloth base material to form an adhesion layer, thus forming the tooth cloth. The rubber layer contains: HNBR including HNBR in which a Mooney viscosity at 100° C. is in a range of from 100 to 160; and a polymer alloy obtained by finely dispersing zinc methacrylate in HNBR. The rubber layer and rubber compositions preferably contain hydrogenated carboxyl NBR.

    Abstract: In a gettering method for processing semiconductor wafers a semiconductor wafer such as a silicon wafer is first annealed in a non-oxidizing atmosphere, for example, in a nitrogen atmosphere, at a temperature in the range of 950.degree. to 1,300.degree. C., preferably at 1,050.degree. C., for more than 10 minutes, for example for four (4) hours, to diffuse out oxygen near the surfaces of the semiconductor wafer. Then the semiconductor wafer is annealed at a temperature in the range of 600.degree. to 800.degree. C., for example at 650.degree. C., for more than one hour, preferably for 16 hours, to create in the interior of the semiconductor wafer microdefects of high density.

    Abstract: A silicon single crystal wafer is subjected to two-stage heat treatment. In the first-stage it is heated at a temperature within the range of between 500.degree. C. and 1,000.degree. C. Subsequently the thus heated wafer is heated at a temperature higher than that at the first stage. Thus, a nondefective zone is formed in the surface region of the wafer, and the interior zone of the wafer becomes rich in micro defects capable of gettering impurities such as heavy metals.

    Abstract: A method is provided for extracting metal impurities from waste water to which ferrous ions are added to provide at least two times the amount of ferrous ions on the mol basis to the amount of metal ions present, the resulting solution containing acid radicals, a base being added to the solution to raise the pH to form a suspension of metal hydroxides, following which an oxidizing gas is bubbled in solution to form crystals containing ferric ions and further containing the metal ions originally in solution, the precipitated crystals being thereafter separated to provide clean water.
