  • Patent number: 9327829
Abstract: A method for attenuating aerodynamic noise from a landing gear may include researching a start point of a shear layer as a flow field characteristic of a region in the vicinity of an original shape of the landing gear, and adding a plate-shaped object in the vicinity of the start point, changing the start point to an edge portion of the plate-shaped object to make the shear layer farther from the original shape. Another method for attenuating aerodynamic noise from a landing gear may include researching a static pressure and an airflow velocity in a region in the vicinity of the landing gear as a flow field characteristic of the region, and adding a plate-shaped object covering a surface of the landing gear which is different from a surface facing an upstream side in an airflow direction, increasing the static pressure in the region to reduce the airflow velocity.

  • Publication number: 20120043418
Abstract: If an engine undergoes high-load operations immediately after it is started up from its cold state, a thermostat is closed to inhibit passage of cooling water through the inside of the engine, and the cooling water stagnant in a cylinder head receives heat from a combustion chamber. Therefore, the cooling water will possibly boil. However, the thermostat is formed in such a manner that a valve body may be opened forcedly if the discharge flow rate of a water pump is greater than the flow rate in a normal use region. Therefore, in such a situation, the discharge flow rate of the water pump is increased greater than the flow rate in the normal use region to open the valve body with good response, thereby passing water into the engine quickly. This configuration prevents the cooling water stagnant in the cylinder head from boiling before the valve body is opened completely.

  • Patent number: 7614515
Abstract: The invention is aimed at preventing bottom crack from occurring in a peelably laminated plastic container and maintaining the container stably in good in-use condition. This can be achieved by increasing the anti-peeling strength of a pair of rib strips, with which the bottom rib is formed, in the bottom seal that has been obtained by pinching off the parison at the bottom and molding the parison into a blow molded, peelably laminated plastic container. The bottom seal 13 of a blow molded, peelably laminated container 1 is reinforced by a pair of rib strips 14 which are pressed to each other to form the bottom rib 15. A multiple number of cavities 16 are formed in the bottom rib 15 in such a way that the rib strip 14 on one side is pushed toward, and caved into, the rib strip on the other side at several points, and vice verse. An expanded portion 18 is formed in the ceiling of each cavity 16.

  • Patent number: 5331382
Abstract: A toner cartridge for an image forming apparatus including a case body having a tubular portion, first and second end walls, and first and second positioning members. The first positioning member radially protrudes from the first end wall and has a flat end face. The first positioning member, which is used for positioning the toner cartridge at the start of loading the toner cartridge into the image forming apparatus, is aligned with a first guide in the image forming apparatus at the start of loading the toner cartridge. The second positioning member, which radially protrudes from the second end wall of the cartridge and has a flat end face, is angularly shifted from the first positioning member. After the first positioning member is aligned with the guide, the cartridge is rotated to align the second positioning member with a second guide in said image forming apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5222033
Abstract: When a microfiche is automatically retrieved by a microfiche retrieval device, and the data of a target frame is input from the keyboard, the microfiche is conveyed to automatically retrieve the frame at the position relevant to the input data, and the largest frame is projected on a reader screen. The positional data for retrieving frames corresponding to the frame addresses other than that of the target frame and the fiche-mode data necessary for retrieving and outputting the imaged frames is stored in memory prior to retrieval of a frame. The stored data is read out so that the correct frame can be retrieved. Even if frames are not positionally aligned with the feeding direction of a particular microfiche or even if the reference frame or the maximum address frame is not exposed on a microfiche, frames can automatically be positioned at a high speed simply by designating a plurality arbitrary frames which are actually exposed with images.

  • Patent number: 4839825
Abstract: In a microfilm retrieval device, a frame which is at a position corresponding to its frame address is automatically retrieved and the object frame is projected on the screen of the reader. In such a device, the object frame must be accurately positioned at a positioning section irrespective of the types and size of microfilms and skew and pitch of frames. An arbitrary frame can be positioned and an accurate automatic retrieval can be realized even if no images are recorded in the reference frame or in the maximum address frames in both the row and the column, or if a microfilm is slanted in arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4825387
Abstract: In a microfilm retrieval device, the frame which is located at the position corresponding to the frame address is automatically retrieved to project the object frame on the screen of the reader. In such a retrieval device, it is necessary to be able to appropriately and precisely position the object frame regardless of the type and size of the frame pitch on the microfilm. Precise positioning of the object frame is accomplished by designating two arbitrary frames of different addresses and calculating the reference frame pitch between them.
