  • Patent number: 5184803
Abstract: A fluid-damped elastomeric bushing has an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve disposed outwardly of the inner sleeve, and two sidewalls extending between the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve and a partition wall to thereby form a pair of fluid compartments. The fluid compartments has a main chamber and a supplemental chamber in communication with the main chamber. An elastic support member extends radially outwardly from the inner sleeve toward the outer sleeve between the side walls to form a first main chamber and a second main chamber. An orifice device is disposed circumferentially along the outer sleeve for communicating the first and second main chambers for causing a fluid in one of the first and second main chambers to be forcibly fed to the other one of the first and second main chambers when a load is applied to the bushing.

  • Patent number: 4940450
Abstract: A power transmission system transmits rotative power from a driver pulley to a driven pulley through a toothed belt. The tooth tips (27b) and/or tooth bottoms (27c) of teeth of at least the driven pulley (10) lie in a plane including a central axis l.sub.2 of rotation of the driven pulley and are inclined with respect to the central axis l.sub.2. When the toothed belt (14) is operated to transmit the rotative power, the position where teeth of the pulley (10) and teeth of the toothed belt (14) start meshing with each other is progressively displaced, thus lowering the level of impact sounds produced when the teeth mesh with each other.

  • Patent number: 4846308
Abstract: A liquid feed pump system having a pump for feeding a liquid stored on the suction side thereof to the discharge side, resisting a flow resistance from a discharge-side flow resistance element. A first passage connects the flow resistance element and the pump, and a second passage is formed in the first passage. The second passage has a gas-flow resistance smaller than that of the flow resistance element. At the start of pump operation, gas in the pump is quickly discharged through the second passage, so that the liquid can be fed without a delay. The second passage may be an orifice, which is bored through the wall of the first passage and opens to the atmosphere at all times, or a by-pass, which makes a detour around the discharge-side flow resistance element and continually connects the upper and lower courses of the resistance element.
