Lateral sealing mechanism for bag making and packaging machine, and bag making and packaging machine
Patent number: 6729113Abstract: A lateral sealing mechanism for use in a bag-making and packaging machine includes movable rotary shafts. The movable rotary shafts are driven by a lateral drive mechanism so that the distance between the shafts is controllable. Support mechanisms are mounted on and rotatable about the shafts. The support mechanisms support sealing elements for forming lateral heat seals on a tubular packaging material from which the bags are formed. The support mechanisms are such that the sealing elements are tiltable with respect to the tubular packaging material, and so that two sealing elements can be maintained in directly opposed engagement to one another across the packaging material as the seal is formed. The machine includes a squeezing mechanism that operates to force the packaged material downward within the tubular material and out of a sealing region before the seal is formed.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2002Date of Patent: May 4, 2004Assignee: Ishida Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hideshi Miyamoto, Kazuya Sugimura, Makoto Ichikawa, Masashi Kondo -

Publication number: 20030213217Abstract: The bag-manufacturing and packaging machine transverse sealing mechanism is for a bag-manufacturing and packaging machine that makes bags by sealing a tubular packaging material longitudinally and transversely while also filling the bags with items to be packaged. The transverse sealing mechanism functions to thermally seal the packaging material in a transverse direction, which is perpendicular to the direction in which the packaging material is conveyed. The transverse sealing mechanism is equipped with a plurality of sealing jaws and an adjusting part. The plurality of sealing jaws rotate about a rotational axis and execute thermal sealing by making contact with the tubular packaging material. The adjusting part adjusts a relative distance between the sealing jaws. The bag-manufacturing and packaging machine transverse sealing mechanism readily accommodates different bag sizes.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2003Publication date: November 20, 2003Applicant: ISHIDA CO., LTD.Inventors: Masashi Kondo, Yukio Nakagawa

Patent number: 6646959Abstract: A timing controller for controlling a mobile machine part such as sealers of a form-fill-seal packaging machine includes a display device for displaying a time axis or parallel axes. Displayed on this display device are a marker-indicative of an object arrival time at which an moving object arrives at a specified position and another marker indicative of a machine part arrival time at which the mobile machine part arrives at the same specified position. If the user moves the latter marker on the display device to a selected position, the machine part is automatically controlled so as to arrive at the specified position at the specified time.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2002Date of Patent: November 11, 2003Assignee: Ishida Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yukio Nakagawa, Masashi Kondo

Patent number: 6598367Abstract: A form-fill-seal packaging machine produces a dummy bag from a film by starting to move seal jaws after the film has been pulled over a specified length or for a specified length of time from the moment when an eye mark on the film is detected by a detector. If the position on the film at which it was cut is displaced from the intended position, this displacement is inputted such that the specified length or the specified length of time is automatically corrected. If any of the parameters defining the pattern of transverse sealing operation is changed, the specified length or the specified length of time can also be automatically adjusted.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2001Date of Patent: July 29, 2003Assignee: Ishida Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yukio Nakagawa, Masashi Kondo

Publication number: 20020121076Abstract: A vertical pillow type form-fill-seal packaging machine with transverse sealers incorporates a timing controller for adjusting the timing for clamping a tubularly formed film with the sealers such that articles being dropping in to be packaged will not be caught in between. A display device displays a time axis or parallel axes along which markers indicate the times of arrival of the falling articles to be packaged and the sealers at the clamping position for the sealers. As the user moves the marker for indicating the arrival time of the sealers, the timing controller adjusts the operating mode of the sealers such that the sealers will clamp the film at the time specified by the user according to the displayed time of arrival of the articles.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 1, 2002Publication date: September 5, 2002Inventors: Yukio Nakagawa, Masashi Kondo

Patent number: 6427422Abstract: Packages are each made by clamping a tubularly formed bag-making film, dropping a batch of articles into this film while it is in this clamped condition, and shaking this batch of articles to thereby increase its volume density. This is done once or repeated any number of times. After articles of the final batch are dropped into the film, the clamped condition of the film is released and the articles are dropped further downward to the bottom of the bag being made. The tubularly formed film is thereafter sealed transversely above the articles which have been received to close the bag.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1999Date of Patent: August 6, 2002Assignee: Ishida Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yukio Nakagawa, Masashi Kondo
