  • Patent number: 6756698
Abstract: When a key is rotated, it is moved in order of an ON position, an R position, an N position and a D position so that the range of an automatic transmission is switched. Moreover, when the key 13 is pressed in the ON position and the N position, it is moved to a START position so that power is applied to a starter. In this case, it is possible to carry out an operation for starting an engine and an operation for switching the range of the automatic transmission by manipulating the same key in a different direction. Therefore, the operation for starting an engine and the operation for switching the range of the automatic transmission can be carried out easily.

  • Patent number: 6629473
Abstract: The lever body 17 includes a recess (receiver) 66 defined by an upper plate 70 and the projections 65a, 65b, as shown in FIG. 7. A notch 67 is formed in the upper plate 70 (see FIG. 1). The notch 67 permits the first locking piece 61 to move from its retreating position to the operating position in the recess 66. The dimension of the notch 67 in the Y direction (the width of the notch 67) and the dimension of the notch 67 in the notch X direction (the depth of the notch 67) are both shorter than the corresponding dimensions of the recess 66. The upper plate 70 functions as a prohibiting member.

  • Patent number: 6547696
Abstract: A shift device including a key cylinder and a shift lever is disclosed. The key cylinder is located adjacent to the shift lever. The key cylinder receives a key corresponding to the key cylinder. When the key is located at the ON position, the key cylinder generates an engine driving signal to an engine ECU. A stopping mechanism is located between the key cylinder and the shift lever for selectively stopping the movement of the shift lever depending on the selected key position.

  • Publication number: 20020011128
Abstract: A shift device (10) including a shift position detecting sensor (28), a user identifying device (78) and a shift detection preventing device (73,76) is disclosed. The shift position detecting sensor detects a shift position of the shift lever and generates a shift position signal corresponding to the detected shift position. The user identifying device identifies a user of the shift device. If the user identifying device cannot identify the user, the shift detection preventing device prevents the shift position detecting sensor from detecting the shift position.

  • Patent number: 6322444
Abstract: A video game system has a controller including a CPU which functions as a controller action detecting unit, a target position calculating unit, and a cursor display control unit, among others. The controller action detecting unit detects X and Y coordinates corresponding to a tilted direction and a tilted angle of a stick-type controller. The target position calculating unit calculates a target position to be reached by a movable character, such as a stone used in curling, based on the X and Y coordinates detected by the controller action detecting unit. The cursor display control unit sends an instruction signal to display a bar indicative of the target position to a signal processor, the bar having a width commensurate with the distance from a predetermined position, such as a stone throwing position, to the target position.

  • Patent number: 5746953
Abstract: It is an object of the invention to provide a casting method for forming a resin molding which is able to cast the resin molding according to an assembly line production system while completely eliminating variations in quality between products. In the casting method according to the present invention, a plurality of metal molds are circulated at a given time difference in the order of a step of casting a hardenable resin composition into a preheated metal mold, a step of heating and hardening the casted resin composition, and a step of releasing the hardened product from the metal mold and assembling the metal mold. There are provided a plurality of heating devices and, while one metal mold in the hardening step is being heated by one of the heating devices, the other metal mold is heated at the above given time difference by the other of the heating devices.

  • Patent number: 4708365
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a seatbelt system in which the distal end portion of a webbing is moved in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle by a motor, thereby allowing the webbing to be automatically fastened to and unfastened from the body of an occupant. The apparatus has a motor overload detecting circuit which detects an overloaded state of the motor by detecting a change in the current flowing through the motor. When the motor is overloaded, the motor is turned OFF. Accordingly, even when the occupant moves during the movement of the webbing and the webbing consequently interferes with the occupant's neck or head, it is possible to prevent the occupant from feeling uncomfortable and the motor from being burned out.
