Patent number: 9643559Abstract: In a pressure detecting device for a vehicle, a first detection member is fixed to a sensor housing such that a first surface of a first diaphragm faces a closed space of the vehicle and a first chamber isolated from the closed space is provided to face a second surface of the first diaphragm. A second detection member is fixed to the sensor housing such that a first surface of a second diaphragm faces the closed space, and a second chamber is provided to face a second surface of the second diaphragm. When the first diaphragm and the second diaphragm are deformed by the same amount and in the same direction, the first detection member and the second detection member output signals having the same value with opposite signs. The first surface of the first diaphragm and the first surface of the second diaphragm are covered with a protection member.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2014Date of Patent: May 9, 2017Assignee: DENSO CORPORATIONInventors: Masatada Yoshida, Makoto Sakai

Patent number: 9534976Abstract: A pressure sensor includes a sensor housing mounted on a vehicle, a first detector located in the housing and having a first diaphragm facing a sealed space of the vehicle, a second detector located in the housing and having a second diaphragm facing the sealed space, and a protector located in the housing and covering the first and second detectors. A first chamber is formed between the first diaphragm and the housing and isolated from the sealed space so that the first diaphragm can be deformed by a pressure in the sealed space. A second chamber is formed between the second diaphragm and the sensor housing and communicates with the sealed space. The first and second diaphragms produce the same signal when being deformed by the same amount in the same direction.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2014Date of Patent: January 3, 2017Assignee: DENSO CORPORATIONInventors: Masatada Yoshida, Makoto Sakai

Publication number: 20060137929Abstract: A vehicle collision safety system includes an engine having an electric motor, a power unit in electrical connection with the electric motor for charging and discharging electricity, a plurality of collision detectors for generating a collision signal upon detecting a collision of a vehicle, and a calculation function for determining the collision of the vehicle upon receiving the collision signal from the collision detectors. Charging and discharging of the power unit in the vehicle collision safety system is shut off when the collision is determined by the calculation function, and the calculation function determines the collision of the vehicle based on the collision signals from at least two collision detectors.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2005Publication date: June 29, 2006Applicant: DENSO CORPORATIONInventor: Masatada Yoshida

Patent number: 6717078Abstract: A collision detecting apparatus is provided which consists of a rotor and a first and a second contact spring. Upon collision, the rotor pushes the first contact spring to establish an electrical contact with the second contact spring. At least one of the first and second contact member is decreased in width from a base portion secured on a mount base to a contact portion, thereby decreasing the weight of the contact portion to avoid the contact chatter.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2003Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Masatada Yoshida, Kyojiro Suzuki

Patent number: 5709403Abstract: An airbag device which includes a passenger seat airbag module and driver's seat airbag module, detects a vehicle collision by means of an electronic control unit (ECU) thereof and inflates the airbags upon the vehicle collision. In the airbag device, the ECU and passenger seat airbag module are formed as a single unit which is installed in the passenger seat dashboard.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1995Date of Patent: January 20, 1998Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masahiro Taguchi, Kazutaka Katoh, Masatada Yoshida, Masayasu Kato

Patent number: 5547215Abstract: An airbag of an airbag system is formed by sewing an edge of at least one piece of cloth two-dimensionally like a balloon. An airbag installation hole which introduces gas from an inflator into the airbag is off set from a center position of the airbag in back and forth direction of a vehicle to be away from a vehicular occupant. The airbag system is installed in an interior component of a vehicle so that the airbag inflates upwards rather than horizontally. When the airbag is inflated completely, the airbag projects towards the vehicular occupant because the airbag installation hole is formed in the off-centered position. Therefore, it is possible to fill a gap efficiency in front of the vehicular occupant with the inflated airbag and protect the vehicular occupant sufficiently.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1995Date of Patent: August 20, 1996Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masahiro Taguchi, Kazutaka Katoh, Masatada Yoshida
