Patent number: 5556513Abstract: An improved multi-layer paper sheet forming system is disclosed, in which a degree of dispersion of fibers under the condition where a paper layer has been formed is large, thereby formation of a paper sheet is improved, moreover, bases of short wire cloth sections can be installed at the same level as a building floor and a complicated base of the shape of steps is not necessitated. The system comprises one endless felt loop and a plurality of short wire cloth sections disposed on the endless felt and provided with a dewatering instrument having, as dewatering elements, forming blades consisting of two zones, that is, a flat front half and a curved rear half. The short wire cloth section includes a forming roll having a large diameter and a breast roll having a small diameter, and the plurality of short wire cloth sections are disposed substantially at the same level.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 1994Date of Patent: September 17, 1996Assignees: Mitsubishi Jukogyo Kabushiki Kaisha, SK Engineering, Ltd.Inventors: Hiroto Shimazu, Takashi Bando, Masateru Tokuno

Patent number: 5456803Abstract: A papermaking apparatus that can form a paper web having a good fiber formation is disclosed. A plurality of vertically adjustable forming rolls are provided on the top surface of an endless felt couch between a lead-in roll and a couch roll, and stationary forming bars are provided on the bottom surface of a wire screen. The endless felt couch and the wire screen, between which paper stock is interposed, are caused to move by undulation to generate pulses, which in turn apply shear force onto the paper web to dewater the paper web while facilitating fiber dispersion on the paper web.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 1993Date of Patent: October 10, 1995Assignee: SK Engineering Ltd.Inventor: Masateru Tokuno

Patent number: 5445713Abstract: Apparatus for forming multilayered paper includes an endless loop of felt and at least two short wire units provided beneath the loop of felt. Each short wire unit has a fixed dehydrator having a forming shoe, at least part of the upper surface of which is curved, and a short wire traveling over the curved part of the upper surface of the forming shoe. The endless loop of felt is engaged with the short wire on the curved upper surfaces of the forming shoes of the fixed dehydrators. Stock is ejected from a head box onto each short wire unit and is moved between the endless loop of felt and the short wire of the unit where the stock is dehydrated to thereby form a paper layer. Each of a forming roll and a couch roll guiding the felt into engagement with the short wire, and a felt roll disposed beneath the felt downstream of the short wire unit, can be moved vertically.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1993Date of Patent: August 29, 1995Assignees: Mitsubishi Jukogyo Kabushiki Kaisha, SK Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuo Kunihisa, Hiroto Shimazu, Takashi Bando, Masateru Tokuno

Patent number: 5366217Abstract: With a sheet stacker to stack sheets cut by a sheet cutter into stacking station, sheets cut by a sheet cutter are transferred by a conveyor with a fixed sheet interval, a clamping device clamps a base position near the tail end of the sheet during transfer of the sheet, and the sheet transfer speed is reduced to an optimum speed needed for stacking the sheet into stacking station orderly. The clamping device has a rotating device having free rolls at its end and a slowdown roll, and clamps the sheet once during each revolution of the rotating device, by contact of the free rolls with the slowdown rolls.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1991Date of Patent: November 22, 1994Assignees: SK Engineering, Ltd., Reliance Electric Ltd.Inventors: Masateru Tokuno, Tatsuyuki Miyagawa

Patent number: 5223069Abstract: With the splicing get started, braking becomes strong and the old core decelerates, when the capstan roll comes to be free run. The speed reference to the second motor is a summed-up speed of "line speed minus capstan speed" and compensated portion of the tension. At once when the old core starts deceleration, the accumulation roll unit starts moving. The capstan roll is accelerated at a certain rate, when the new core is drawn out, up until the speed reaches "line speed plus overrun speed". When the accumulation roll unit reaches the synchronous position, the overrun becomes "0" and the capstan roll synchronizes with the line speed.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1991Date of Patent: June 29, 1993Assignees: SK Engineering Ltd., Reliance Electric Ltd.Inventors: Masateru Tokuno, Masaaki Ito

Patent number: 4737846Abstract: A device for detecting any defects in single faced corrugated fiberboard while it is running. A light is irradiated to the corrugated surface of the fiberboard and the striped image is scanned by an image pick-up unit and the picture signal is converted to binary-coded signal to discriminate the number of stripes or corrugations. The number is counted by a counter and compared with a normal number by a microcoputer. If there is too large a difference between them, the scanned part is judged as defective. This device can detect any defects in a running web at a sufficiently high speed to follow the line speed of a corrugating machine.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 1987Date of Patent: April 12, 1988Assignee: Rengo Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masateru Tokuno, Tetsuya Sawada, Yasuharu Mori, Ikuo Yoshimoto

Patent number: 4696212Abstract: An improved rotary cutter for a web material is proposed. It has a pair of rolls adapted to rotate synchronously in opposite directions and an axially elongated knife secured to each roll to extend axially. A plurality of rolling bodies are arranged around each roll to bear the shock upon cutting. Different means for preventing the knives from hitting the rolling bodies are proposed. This arrangement prevents the rolls from warping due to shock upon cutting and allows the use of rolls having a smaller diameter.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1986Date of Patent: September 29, 1987Assignee: Rengo Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masateru Tokuno, Tetsuya Sawada, Yasuharu Mori

Patent number: 4684360Abstract: A device for positioning tools such as slitters and scorers used with a corrugating machine is proposed. As a pair of rotary shafts rotate, tool heads mounted thereon and each carrying a tool rotate, so that the tools work the web of corrugated fiberboard fed between them as required. When a transfer unit is operated with the tool head supporting plate coupled with the position adjusting member carrying a tool head, they move together axially along the rotary shafts, so that a pair of the tools will be moved simultaneously to a desired position.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1986Date of Patent: August 4, 1987Assignee: Rengo Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masateru Tokuno, Tetsuya Sawada
