Abstract: A tape cassette that includes a box-like housing having a front wall, a top surface and a bottom surface, a wound tape mounted within the housing, a tape guide, and an indicator of the tape type formed in the front wall. The housing directs the tape along a path to an exit, and at least a portion of the path extends parallel to the front wall. The tape guide is spaced downstream of the exit, whereby a section of tape is exposed between the exit and the tape guide. The indicator is formed in the front wall proximal to the exposed section of tape, and includes at least one aperture that extends generally parallel to the top and bottom surfaces and perpendicular to the portion of the path extending parallel to the front wall.

Each of the brush box assemblies is formed of box-like metal, and has a plurality of mounting legs. Additionally, each of the box fixing sections of the brush holder has a plurality of mounting holes. In this brush holder assembly, these mounting legs are inserted into the respective mounting holes, and the brush box assembly is fixed. Furthermore, in the brush holder assembly of the present invention, the brush holder assemblies face the brush holder through gaps. Additionally, a commutator motor of the present invention includes the above brush holder assembly.

Abstract: There are provided a video player for outputting a video signal which enables a monitor to easily, reliably detect that a signal is in a letterbox format and a video system having the video player. When the aspect ratio of video data is 16:9, the video player converts the video data into an NTSC signal in a letterbox format, outputting the thus-converted NTSC signal. In addition, the video player adds a closed caption signal to specific lines in a vertical blanking period, and each piece of 2-byte data is set to space. A 16:9 aspect ratio monitor receives an NTSC signal distributed by a distributor; detects that the closed caption signal is added to the NTSC signal and that data about the closed caption signal is space; and displays a main video in an zooming-in manner. A 4:3 aspect ratio monitor displays the main video as is.
