  • Patent number: 7297307
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of producing an absorbent member comprising feeding a superabsorbent polyer and pul fiber both in the form of a dispersion in an air stream, depositing the superabsorbent polymer and the pulp fiber in a recess by suction through a plurality of suction holes provided in the bottom of the recess and releasing the deposited aggregate from the recess. The bottom of the recess (50) has a first suction region having an open area ratio R1 of 40 to 80% and a second suction region having an open area ratio R2 of 2 to 20% with the ratio of R1 to R2 ranging from 70/30 to 99/1. The superabsorbent polymer and the pulp fiber are deposited on both the first and the second suction regions. The present invention also relates to an absorbent member comprising a superabsorbent polymer and pulp fiber.

  • Patent number: 7274478
Abstract: A print-direct printer for receiving and printing JPEG data from a DSC divides the area of a memory into a plurality of blocks, stores the received JPEG data in the memory on a block-by-block basis and decompresses the compressed JPEG data that has been stored in the memory, thereby expanding the JPEG data into image data. If it is determined that JPEG data to be expanded next has not been stored in the memory, then the DSC is requested for JPEG data corresponding to at least one block, in an amount that is less than the maximum amount of data transferable from the DSC, in addition to the JPEG data to be expanded.

  • Patent number: 7139908
Abstract: An information processing apparatus comprising a power unit, a first control unit and a second control unit in which power supply is controlled based on a control signal from the first control unit, wherein when electric power supply from the power supply unit has been stopped and then the electric power supply from the power supply unit has been started, if update of a memory of the first control unit has been instructed, the first control unit transfers the content of a flash ROM in the first control unit into the memory thus updates the content of the memory. At this time, the second control unit is kept in a power-off status by a control signal line until the update of the memory is completed. After the completion of the update, power-on is notified by the control signal line, and the reset status of the second control unit is released.

  • Patent number: 6685292
Abstract: Printing apparatus and printhead characteristic data selection method, which can appropriately handle printhead characteristic data under various environments. Judgment is made as to whether or not characteristic data of a printhead mounted to a printing apparatus is stored in an EEPROM of the printhead, an EEPROM of the printing apparatus, or a host computer. Based on the judgment result, the printhead characteristic data is inputted from the memory or host in accordance with a predetermined priority order. Validity of the characteristic data is determined each time the printhead characteristic data is inputted in accordance with the predetermined priority order. Based on the judgment result or determination result, the printhead characteristic data or average printhead characteristic data stored in another storage medium provided in the printing apparatus is selected.
